Den Mother:Nightwing Pt 2

Nightwings pov

They had all eaten the pizza i had ordered when wally said "why didn't you have any pizza?" I lauGh quietly as i put away my holo computer "im on a very strict diet" Artemis looks at him "why? Your as thin as a stick" i tense slightly "i have to be health don't i. After all I'm only human and my fighting style is very acrobatic that's why I'm also on a very strict training schedule" Robin cuts in "Talking about training are you in charge of it or is Canary still gonna come in to do it?"

"I'm in charge of it, not sure what I'm going to do yet so you'll find out tomorrow, i  going to bed I'm beat, night." And with that i walk out, when I'm round the corridor k turn on the cameras so i can see what they are saying.

"Training with him doesn't seem like its gonna be that hard, he seems pretty chill" wally started Artemis being the smarter out of the two said "he's a bat for god sake, plus you heard him he's on a strict training schedule. Plus we have all seen robin train." I could help but laugh to my self as i watch the scene play out and don't think i didn't notice Red attempting to stifle a laugh or to.

I put away my computer and get changed. Artemis was right it certainty isn't going to be easy that for sure, but i do need to think of something. I open my phone and scroll through my contacts until i see a certain name that gives me an idea i send a quick text off and my plans are all sorted. I smile to my self as i fall unconscious.

Next day

(Red) Robins pov
I of course was always one of the first up, well except for nightwing so i desided I'd go look for him after my coffee. And to my great surprise i found both my older brothers sitting in the kitchen at the island. I stood at the door way for a moment but i knew that they knew i was there. I observed the way they were chatting quietly with there heads bent together in conversation. I shrugged and walked over to the kettle.

Once i sat down at the table i joined the conversation which was basically just an update of Buldheaven and Gotham. Like an hour later i left to get changed and wale the others up per wings request. The time was 7:30 and we still had to all have breakfast before training.

When i finally got everyone up and dressed we walked to the kitchen together. Only to see Hood and Nightwing sharing a cigarette while laughing. The others were moterfied at the scene infront of them i just sighed at there reaction. They're from Gotham for god sake. But why did they have to do it now gah.

"What are you doing?" Wally shouted getting everyone's attention and before anyone could react Hood answered first in his usual rude sarcastic tone "flying on a magic carpet, what does it look like? dumbass we're smoking" Aqualad steps in "what i think kid really means is why are you doing itm it is unhealthy" Nightwing blows the smoke from his mouth before saying "stress reliever honestly other then last night i haven't slept for..." he pauses for a second trying to work out what day he's on so i cut in "8 days" the team gasp and artemis says "how is that even possible?"all three of us batkids shrug "not sure" nightwing says. They all nod and choose to ignore the nasty habit that nightwing doesn't usually take part in a he usually tells Hood off meaning he is seriously stressed.

AFTER BREAKFAST OUTSIDE IN THE TRAINING GROUND

"Alright team" Nightwing said with a huge smirk on his face "This is what's gonna happen. Hood and I are gonna  take these shiny paintball guns and shoot you for a long time. If any of you get hit you shall run laps around the mountain at a humanoid speed until I say stop. So hopefully none of you get hit. I believe im forgetting something..."

"You should probably introduce who i am" Hood comments while looking over the paint gun with mild interest.  "Oh yeah" nightwing says sheepishly i smile slightly at my eldest brother "this is red hood my younger brother. He is excellent marksman,  so be prepared to be running a lot. And I mean run no walking, or flying and wally no speeding off you have to stay as a group. Think of it as team bonding and if you don't follow the rules you won't like the results"

"We are so screwed" is all i could think to say.

The team and I were on our fifteenth lap. We weren't all able to avoid the expert shots fired by Red hood and unsurprisingly Nightwing. I had to explain on around lap six that the bat clan go paint balling often and we all are amazing shots as it usually turns into a matter of survival. 

"I dont get it, i dont understand what the point of this excersise is!" Wally screams frustrated for about the hundredth time since we started. "Prehaps he just wanted us to get proper excersize" Aqualad reasons.

Everyone turned to me expectantly "No..." i start slowly "If Nightwing just wanted us to get exercise we would have just had to run.  No he wants us to do something together, i think he wants us to talk. Otherwise kf would have been able to run ahead and m'gann could of flyed. I think the real purpose is for us as a team to compensated eachothers strengths and weaknesses. Nightwing is amazing at reading body language and always has access to the bat computer. Which leads me to think that he already knows our weaknesses. Which is how he can hit us."

"But what's the point?" Conner asks grumpily. I smile softly "He's teaching us to work as a team and that we're stronger together then apart so we will never have tho go through the pain of losing a teammate. So that we can protect everyone. "

Kaldur nodded slowly as if words weight on him greatly "I'm open just before i switch to my water bearers and vice versa" Artemis went next "I cant protect my left side properly when I use my bow" i made a quick comment about getting distracted by people that need help. M'gann admitted with quite a lot of embarrassment that she is left open after using her telepathy and when she turns invisible. 

Wally finally admitted "im left open when im trying to stop" conner also admitted rathe grumpily "i tend to charge right in and don't bother with dodging"

I smile brightly and say "right left make a plan to defeat my brothers!" I gained a cheer in response and we quicky make a plan.

We finally manages to complete the task and lasted a good 30 miniutes before M'gann got hit meaning we finished training and were aloud to go in side and get showered and changed before dinner which was spagetti. soon after we had cleaned up the dishes and stuf we all desided to go to bed bacause we were all wiped after the training and were all dreading what he had planned for tomorrow
