Caroline's POV:
Day 2-
I wake up breathing in the fresh non polluted air. Instantly I hop out of bed and make breakfast with the small amount of food we had left. I heard Enzo and Kai's snoring and Stefan and Ruth's soft breathing. They were not at all used to getting up an hour before sunrise. I'm glad to see I could still tell time by the sun, stars, and Moon.
I leave bread out to cool and the soup in the couldron on the fire. I slip out the house to see the sun slowly rising. Quickly I walk to town square with 10 coins. The first stand I go to is for food. I get enough food for the next 2 weeks using 3 coins. Then I go to buy clothes for everyone. I spend the rest of the money which got us all plenty of clothes for this month before they begin to wear out. I struggle to carry the 5 bags of clothes 1 for each of us and the 3 bags of food. I drop all the clothes bags plenty of times and on the 5th time I groan with impatience.
"Need help?" A voice asks.
"Yes that'd be..." I stop when I look up and see Niklaus. My heart stops at seeing the Nik I used to know. Way before all of us changed. His eyes widen when he see's me. His eyes change as if he recognizes me. He shakes his head clearing his thoughts.
"Umm- yeah... that'd be very kind of you." I say straightening my back to look more proper.
He grabs the clothing bags with ease while I carried the food and we walked side by side.
We didn't say anything. It just felt peaceful. And I could tell he felt it too.
We get to the house and he looks at it surprised.
"Telling by the mens clothing and giant house im guessing you don't live alone." I laugh.
"No. Umm... me, my brother Stefan, our friends Kai, Ruth, and Enzo all live here." I explain.
He stands there looking at me then looks down at the bags as if asking to come in.
"Oh yeah come in." I smile knowing I was blushing.
We walk in the house and he follows me into the kitchen. Everybody turns and stares at us wide eyed. He sets the bags clenching and unclenching his fists due to then turning white and tightening from carrying the bags for so long.
"Everybody this is..." I stop realizing he hadn't actually told me it and it would be creepy if I knew it.
"Niklaus." He says shyly.
"This us Niklaus. Niklaus this is Ruth, Stefan, Kai, and Enzo." I say indicating to each of them. Kai has an angry face but changes it when I smile at him.
"I've brought gifts. Clothes and food precisely. Ruth here, Kai, Enzo, and Stefan." I throw them their bags and they go to change. Kai goes reluctantly having to get pulled out by Enzo.
"They seem... nice." Is all he can muster to say as he helps me put away the food. (On the shelves)
"They are really. You just have to get to know them." I say smiling.
"I plan to. But that means you may be seeing me a lot more than you intended." I smirk.
"What if I said I was fine with that?" I ask as he gets closer to me.
"What if I said I was hoping you'd say that?" We were now a foot away.
"What if I said your blocking the way to the food?" Kai calls out. We jump away. He steps between us and extremely slowly gets a teaspoon of soup at a time.
"I should get home. My siblings are waiting." He says once Kai gets to his 12th teaspoon. He backs away from Kai who smiles while he continues to only get teaspoons.
