I'm desperate.
We're all desperate really. For something. Maybe someone even.
But desperation, is kind of humiliating when it's talked about out loud. Talking about how much you need something in your life, that you scream and cry for it..yeah pretty humiliating.
I may have lost you as you're reading this, let me explain a bit more.
Let's say a five year old. You walk with this child into a mall, and they see a toy. Naturally, they'll start whining that they want that toy, and eventually they'll cry.
They're desperate for that toy.
Let's look at it from an adult's perspective.
We love someone. We crave for them. But the difference between us and a child, is that our desperation for that someone is laced with pain and hurt.
We might also be desperate about running away, about getting into a certain college, about travelling to our dream country.
But let's be real.
The real heart-rocking desperation is when we yearn for someone. When we lay in our beds at night and feel that void in us expanding as a tape of memories play in our heads.
Desperation also makes us stupid. Because it makes us do things that we shouldn't. Admit things that should never be said aloud.
The thing about desperation, my darlings, is that it makes us hurt. And that's why it's such an ugly feeling.
