It's not that when we're alone, it makes us feel lonely.
It really has nothing to being physically alone actually. We live most of our time in our minds. That's why we feel lonely.
Let's say our mind is a room. A room that no one can enter but you. In this room, so much happens.
The thoughts, the struggles, the emotions that we battle to keep down, it's a hellish storm in that room.
So you're standing in the corner of that room, while everything is raging on. And that sinking feeling you feel in the pit of your stomach, that feeling of intense loneliness settles in as you realize that..
that you're in this room with no way out, and no matter how much you try to explain all the events that are taking place in your mind to your very close friend, you can start screaming at them and spilling everything, but they'll still look at you dumbfoundedly.
The bitter truth is, we're often left alone with our abnoxious thoughts and emotions and so much more, that's why we're lonely.
That's why we're so damn lonely.
