I guess in 2019, the subject of social media is wildly talked about, mainly because of how much we feel like we live two seperate lives, one that's virtual, and the other that is real.
But it's messing with us, mentally and emotionally, big time.
Instagram models? How did that even become a thing? And the fact that everyone, every single person right now is trying to reach that level of 'perfect' is acually bullshit.
No one can be this perfect, because it doesn't really exist. These women have gone through surgeries, photoshop, makeup, and lots of money to present such a picture to the normal people scrolling through instagram.
And let's also talk about how bad instagram makes us feel. Seeing people travelling, or achieving this, or buying that expensive car, or carrying a phone that cost a fortune, all of that makes us feel so under-achieved, like we have way too many problems and we didn't make it in life.
But that's not true. Instagramers are posting these pictures and videos but that's as far as we get to go, we don't know what's happening beyond that point, whether it's their personal problems or their insecurities or whatever else that is wrong in their lives.
So this emotional and mental pressure I see my friends in, and even myself sometimes, about wanting to be like them, to do the stuff they do, and buy all that expensive stuff, because we think they look happy and satisfied.
And we want to be just that, we want to be happy. But unfortunately, these things could never provide happiness, and it's time we realize it.
I hope this was clear enough, better yet, I hope this was real enough for you to understand.
