The thing about staying strong

"Self worth burns away
Rekindle what you are
The past won't get you far
Throw all your doubt into the fire
I'll erase your scars" -George Shelley

Staying strong through betrayal, through heartbreak, through death, through tragedies, is like having to force your eyes open after being awake for three days straight.

It's painful.

Strong means having to not lock yourself in your room when everything gets too much, when you hear people talk about that one person who recently passed away, when you see that girl that broke your trust, when you see that person that broke your heart, when you look in the mirror and see your body-

You have to stay strong, you have to keep your head raised, you have to hold yourself from breaking down.

It's okay to cry, it's okay to scream, but after a while it's not anymore.

After a while, you have to move on with your life, without that person that meant everything to you, because life doesn't wait for anyone, it just keeps on moving forward and forward and forward.

Moving forward is not easy, it never will be, it takes effort, strong will, and being strong.

Staying strong might as well be the key to a good life, because staying strong is going to be needed when death is inevitable and we live in a world like ours.
