Chapter Thirty-Seven

"Are they okay? Tell me Noah's fine!"

I heard different distinct voices near me. Meron ring mga dumadaan na boses pero hindi ko kilala kung sino sila.

"Bakit niyo kasi hinayaan?! Why would he even dive in that crowd?!"

Nagising ako dahil sa sigaw ni Des. I even groaned when I felt the pain all over my body.

Tinignan ko ang sarili ko. I can't count the number of scratches and bruises I got from the stampede but they sure are many.

"Gising na siya..." Fausto murmured.

Nilingon ako ng mga tao sa loob ng kwarto. By the looks of this room, they must have taken me to the hospital.

"Julia, thank goodness! Ano bang inisiip niyo? Bakit hindi kayo umalis doon?!" galit na salubong sa akin ni Des.

"Please relax, Des. Kagigising niya lang." saway sa kanya ni Vaughn.

"He's waking up." I heard Xavierre murmur.

Mabilis kong nilingon ang nasa tabi ko. Napatakip ako ng bibig nang nakitang maraming nakabalot na bandage at kung anu-ano kay Noah. Mas marami pa sa nakalagay sa akin!

Kung hindi sana siya pumunta doon, he won't be pained! His precious face won't get bruised and he won't suffer from the scratches and bruises!

"Oh god, Noah! Ano bang iniisip mo?!" bulyaw sa kanya ni Des.

"Naman Des, relax muna. Kagigising lang nung tao." saway ulit sa kanya ni Fausto.

Noah scanned the room and when he saw me, he immediately stood up. Nagulat ang lahat, Des even tried to stop him out of shock pero nahuli na siya.

Noah made his way to me and immediately hugged me. Nagulat ako sa gesture niya pero niyakap ko rin siya pabalik.

"Are you fine? Please tell me you're okay." he whispered to me.

Naiiyak ako sa tanong niya. His hoarse voice proves how tired and pained he was.

"I'm in better condition than you, Noah. Bakit kasi? Bakit pumunta ka pa doon?"

He hugged me tighter and it made my heart melt.

Hindi pa rin ako makapaniwala sa sinabi ni Noah nung nasa gitna kami ng stampede but he really needs to start learning about good and proper timing!

"Guys, can you please give us the room for a moment?"

Nagising kami sa sinabi ni Des kaya napabitaw kami sa yakapan namin.

Nag-aalalang nakatingin sa amin sina Fausto, but they eventually went out of the room. Even Xavierre mouthed "it'll be okay" before she went out.

Nang nakalabas na ang lahat, hinarap ulit kami ni Des. She was way more serious than earlier.

"Noah, are you in love with Julia?" seryosong tanong niya sa katabi ko.

Nag-iwas ako ng tingin kay Des. I felt so guilty. I know when we started this deal, we swore not to have feelings for each other.

I know I haven't named my feelings yet, pero naguguilty ako para kay Noah. He did confess to me earlier.

"Yes Deshiree. I know I promised not to have feelings for her but Des, the public knows about our relationship. Bakit di nalang namin totohanin ito?" Noah sounded like he was pleading and it felt painful to see him that way.

"Let me know what you think kapag nabasa mo na 'to!"

Padabog niyang inabot kay Noah ang isang folder na may mga documents. Walang reaksyon si Noah nang dinampot niya ang isang papel but his expression changed when he read one paper.
