"I always love to see a new tribute join us... We never know what they'll be like, or what they've got up their sleeves." -Filius Ravenscar
Name: Chelsea 'Chels' Thornglade
Age: 15
Gender: Female
District: Five
Physical Description: Straight, layered, black hair that's just past her shoulders; creamy, chocolate brown eyes; fair skin; one centimeter below medium height; is in shape and isn't overly muscular.
Personality: Shy at times, especially when meeting new people. Intellectual and quiet. Is prepared for the worst, empathetic, cautious and can be extremely hyper, which isn't often.
Craft: Chelsea has been able to become a system analyst, which was a difficult job for someone her age to get.
Skills: Is good at making things involving electricity, can cook, great at hiding and is a fast learner.
Weapon of Choice: She's good at close-range, long-range and physical attack, so she can use any weapon, though she likes using anything with a blade.
District Token: A necklace with a polished oval of human bone engraved with a bolt of lightning and strand of grain.
Back Story: When she was a baby, she was kept in an orphanage without knowing anything about her parents or much about her family, only that she had a brother. At the age of six, she was kicked out because she was "too old" to stay, there. All of the children were.
Peacekeepers would keep an eye out to see how old they were and when they were six years of age, they'd take them and their belongings; they'd be thrown out in the cold in the dark of night. When Chelsea was thrown out onto the streets, literally, she scampered away to find shelter, but there was none. So she spent her night alone, under the canopy of a tree near the water, which was cold, wet.
Earlier in the year, the Games were on, again, and the reapings were televised. Out on the streets, she was relieved that she didn't have to watch them, since none of the Peacekeepers cared about them; they only had to attend the district reaping.
Coincidentally, she walked past a house and the district 9 reapings were on. She stopped to watch through the window, the girl had already been reaped and it was the boys' turn next. She hoped that it wasn't him, wasn't her twin brother.
"Marcus Thornglade!"
But of course, it was him. Black hair, fair skin, brown eyes. He looked exactly like her and she like him. Her world crumbled like pastries; she never got to meet him - well, never remembered meeting or seeing him - and he was going into the Games, a place where he'd most likely die.
This year was different than any other, she watched the Games and hoped he'd win. She also continued to train, just like she had been doing for years, so she'd escape her district and travel to 9 to finally meet him; Chelsea didn't know what else to do.
She stood outside windows to watch what was happening, all night and all day. She saw a relationship blossoming between the quiet girl that was also from 5 and her brother. She saw how much they loved each other. She saw how he fought, went back to the girl, Ivy, and passed away from all the blood he lost. The kiss, his limp body picked up and flown away. Her heart shattered into infinite pieces.
Whatever Chelsea did, the flashes of Marcus lying on the snow, staining it red, managed to creep inside her head. Chelsea did everything mechanically; she only felt cold and distant, wished to be invisible from all the prying eyes.
