Once In A Lifetime: We Have Our Champion!
Thank you all for these Games; they have probably been the best I have been granted the honour to host, and I have witnessed some brilliant entries. I could not think of a better way to retire, so, thank you all.
I am sure you are all dying to hear the results, so... We will begin by announcing the special awards.
Best Name: I have to admit, I've had a surprisingly difficult time choosing the winner of this award, as I was given rather... original names. However, this award goes to the tribute who my autocorrect has re-named Felt tack Scwartzeneger. - Felticka Scwartenzier (IAmWarningYou)
Note: Honourable mention goes to Jerphydius Sylverstar (DarkLightning)
Best Quote: There have been many "best quote" awards for each task (most of which went to Croc), but this quote easily summarized the character and his mood, as well as being filled with audacity and making me chuckle every time I read it. "Hello, my name is Custer Mudd; have a nice day!" - Custer Mudd (CrocodileRocker)
Best Feud: This award probably isn't much of a surprise, as there was only one major feud throughout these Games, but I still felt like it deserved recognition for one author making their two tributes hate each other so much. Congrats to the "Capitol pansy" and the "scary old woman" - Azure Featherlin and Mercy "MeMe" Lakeside (katniss-everdeen)
Best Alliance: This award goes to Once In A Lifetime's dynamic duo (or maybe psychotic duo is a better term) who managed to create an easy flowing and humorous alliance reminiscent to the Mad Hatter and the March Hare. Congratulations to the only people I know who are capable of making sense appear in such nonsense - Felticka Scwartenzier (IAmWarningYou) and Custer Mudd (CrocodileRocker)
Best District: The tributes from this district have really done everything they possibly could to honour their dead interview, so congratulations to our two Capitol tributes! - Violet Montgomery (ScrapbookLove) and Azure Featherlin (katniss-everdeen)
Funniest Character: This award goes to the genius who decided to volunteer for a fight to the death in order to get away from housework. The tribute (who may or may not have gone completely insane) definitely deserves this award, and continues a long tradition of this author winning funniest tribute (there, I said it, no need to remind us, we all know) - Custer Mudd (CrocodileRocker)
Best Character: There have been so many brilliant characters that this award is extremely difficult to hand out. I am a big fan of both Azure and MeMe, but I just love the odd girl from Four fighting to get back to her love (despite that some people could argue she is reminiscent of Annie Cresta) - Minnie Amentia
And now, the moment you have all been waiting for, the announcement of the victor!
Before we start, I would like to say that you have all been brilliant. There have been no losers, just the victor, and the people who aren't the victor (and are therefore dead).
Third Place (joint):
Azure Featherlin - katniss-everdeen
Armed with nothing but friends and determination, the sweet and loveable Azure found himself floating through the game he volunteered for, unsuspecting of the harm it causes. All the boy has wanted was to make his mother proud, and - despite falling just a little short - I am sure he has done so.
and
Liz Short - KingOfLimbs
Liz started the Games strong, and stayed that way throughout it. Her one goal has been to get home to one of the things she cares about most in the universe (possibly more than her own life); her parents. One of the biggest competitors from the very beginning (and one of the tributes I sponsored), Liz finds herself in a very credible third place.
Second Place:
Custer Mudd - CrocodileRocker
Custer started off behind in these Games (what can I say, not handing in does that to you) but survived round after round of voting, quickly establishing himself as a massive competitor. In the end, the boy did not manage to escape the fate he volunteered for, but at least he proved he wasn't a complete fool. With constant improvement and humour, Custer finds himself in a well-deserved second place.
First Place:
Mercy "MeMe" Lakeside - katniss-everdeen
The oldest tribute in these Games (written by the author who usually writes twelve year-olds, go figure), has managed to do just what she planned to; show the world how a real victor wins. Despite brief uncertainty, Mercy (who is definitely not merciful) never kept her eyes off the prize, leading her to a second victory! It is my pleasure to announce that the winner of The Writer Games: Once In A Lifetime is MeMe Lakeside! (And only partly because I sponsored her)
Note: For those of you who are wondering, the tie for first place was broken by a vote between the two Gamemakers.
