Four tributes join me in  the back room. I had sat on a couch with Ren, talking to him in a quiet  whisper. We had decided long ago, before we were even picked for these  games, that we would be allies, no matter what happened. Now we're here,  and sitting in the back waiting for Helvetica to call me out. Ren had  gone out a few minutes ago.

"Cobalt Jennings!"  Helvetica yells. I stand and stride toward the steps up to the stage.  When I make it to the top, I smile, wave, and walk slowly and carefully  to the stool. "How are you Cobalt?"

"I'm good, thank you Helvetica! And how are you?" I return, smiling at her. She's really very pretty for a capital citizen.

"I'm good, so........ What's your Strategy for these games?" As usual she never wastes any time.

"My strategy is to pay attention. If I don't, I'll never know what's coming for me, or what to do about it."

"Good idea! How far do you think you'll make it?"

"All the way of course, who doesn't want to make it all the way to the end of the games?" I say, adjusting my dress.

"I see that you're  wearing a very bright and vibrant dress, mind standing and showing it  off quick?" she says, gesturing that I stand.

When I do, the ruffles  in my skirt, that are tilted sideways from mid thigh on my right to mid  calf on my left fall into place. The corner is dark red, and as the  color fades to a bright yellow at my breasts, where there are no straps,  and a black belt just under my bust. My hair is down, and wavy, pulled  back at the temples with a bright bow to match my dress at the back. My  ear rings are feathers, died to match my dress as well. My eye shadow  matches, as do my heals which are red.

"You look very nice!" Helvetica says. I sit back down. "Who are your biggest threats?"

"Not really sure, haven't paid much attention. Oops, there goes that strategy!" The crowd laughs and Helvetica cracks a smile.

"What makes you a contender to win?"

"I make a lot of things. I can make more things than you think with very little."

"And final question, seeing that our time is running out, why do you want to win?"

"Because I want to get  to say how I feel about someone. I haven't told him yet, and if I don't  make it out alive, I fear I'll never be able to spend my life with him."

The crowd awws at what I've just said, and the buzzer rings.

I stand and walk of  stage, I look at Ren, who's waiting at the door with our mentor. I look  back at him, and gives me a slight look of questioning. He has no idea  that I've fallen in love with him.
