Personality: Quinn has schizophrenia, meaning he has severe hallucinations, and often can't find differences between them and real life. Quinn has learned to live with them, and since moving, he has gotten better, through the ones he does have, are horrible. This condition has influenced him beyond anything, he is shy and quiet around strangers, and is only open to his father, the only person who cares for him. He likes it when it is quiet and he can hear birdsong, he also likes closing his eyes to try and escape the world.
He acts like he is afraid of people, which may be the case, since his few encounters with them, normally turned out bad, especially when he still went to public school, and people acted strange around him for having hallucinations.
Background: Quinn used to live in Timaru, a small neighborhood in Canterbury, South Island. However, when his mother died, his father became very depressed, and for almost a year was barely able to feed Quinn. Soon after, he shaped up his act, knowing his deceased wife wouldn't want him to act that way. At the age of 6, during class, Quinn experienced his first hallucination, and his father promptly moved to a large property on Aoraki/ Mount Cook, the highest mountain in New Zealand, when Quinn got worse. They lived on a lower slope, far enough down that avalanches aren't a problem, but high enough that if you aren't used to it, breathing is a tad problematic.
Ever since moving, Quinn has been home schooled, and doesn't spend any time with other children, all his time his spent with his only family; his dad, who he loves more then anything on this Earth. His father gave up his job for Quinn, and now Quinn helps his father run a goat farm, one of the highest ones in New Zealand. Occasionally hikers stop to rest and ask for directions, but they never stay long, and Quinn normally hides.
District Token: His father's brown bandanna, so he can be reminded of home wherever he goes, and so if the hallucination's scare him too much, he can cover his eyes and hide for a little while.
