Task Two: Bloodbath

Hello and welcome to this year's arena!

This not-so-luxury  resort is distinguished by its unique location. Yes, that's right. We're  sending you underground! This elaborate cave system has been specially  adapted by the Gamemakers to keep tributes on their toes at all times,  so you can be assured that you will never be bored in your stay here. In  a memorial to our dear late Brielle Featherlin, who as you know loved  everything pretty, in every cave you will be able to find clusters of  delightful flowers. But please be aware that they are poisonous, and  that even to brush against them would be to cause severe burns. To eat  them would mean certain death. Please be aware of this during your stay.

The water here is purer  and cleaner than anywhere in Panem, having been filtered through  thousands of years of rock. This refreshing treat can be located in the  two biggest caves, in the waterfalls cascading down the smooth rock  formations. No payment is necessary, although entrance to these caves  may be obstructed by tributes.

The Cornucopia is  located in the biggest cave, in the centre of the floor. From here you  will be able to access weaponry and tools that may be useful for  survival, such as sleeping bags, packets of food and matches. However,  we would advise against attempting to light a fire in some of the  smaller caves, as they may contain small pockets of flammable gas.

For those adventurous  types, several of the walls are climbable, and though the caves are  effectively sealed off from the outside world a quick climb may prove  immensely beneficial. Who knows what you might find in the higher  reaches?

Now, no resort is  complete without a little internal artwork, so many of the tunnels have  been decorated with semi-authentic cave sketches by some of the  Capitol's most notorious and in-demand artists! You lucky tributes have  the privilege of viewing them without paying! Legend has it that there  are maps and hints hidden within these images, but this is yet to be  proved.

Now then, I'm sure some  of you are wondering just how you will be able to see! Well, worry no  longer! Low-level mood lighting is provided in many of the caves, though  not all, so please watch your step!

The Task:

-    This task covers the first few minutes in the arena, otherwise known as the bloodbath.

-    Your tribute must kill  AT LEAST five of the other tributes, though you are permitted to kill  more. Your tribute does not have to kill these tributes themselves but  must see them die in the course of the entry.

-    Word limit: Between 750 and 1,250 words.

-       Deadline: Monday at 8 PM CST
