Kim's POV

"No matter what they say, its all about money" I heard my lawyer Rudy from a far distance - he was always thinking about more. I was far behind him and his ruthless games. I'm a businesswoman you see, and I have to fit in, being successful and a woman doesn't usually happen in this world - but I was lucky enough for it to happen to me.

I always seemed to seclude myself from everyone. Here I am at an extravagant - over the top, flashy party - but instead I'm sat inside this office watching it through the floor length windows, it was never really my thing. My phone began to ring, here we go again - this is the tenth call today

"Yes Linda?" I answered in an annoyed tone

"Did you not get my message!?" She asked, complete anger in her voice

"Yes Linda, I asked my secretary to speak to you? Did you not get my message?" I sighed

"I did, I speak to your secretary more than I speak to you" I was in no mood for her right now, we weren't together anymore and she was the last of my worries

"Okay what is it you want me to do for you right now?" I asked, running my fingers through my hair

"I need to collect my things from your house! How am I supposed to do that when you're not even home! This is why we didn't work out Kimberley! You're constantly at some business trip - running around the country doing god knows what!" She shouted

"And this is why we didn't work out! I can't be dealing with you and your damn shouting! Good-bye Linda! I will be in contact with you when I'm home!" I said, ending the call not allowing her to speak - she always found a way to ruin my day. I should be down there, I took in a deep breath exiting the office only to be met by Steven

"Aw yes Kimberley! Rudy thinks I should-" I cut him off

"Rudy is just my lawyer" I said point blank

"Yes ma'am" He said politely, he followed me down the stairs as I addressed him about business plans

"How did the stock open at the London Stock Exchange?"

"I don't know" I stopped in my tracks turning around to face him

"You don't know? London Stock Exchange opened about 90 minutes ago! You have to be on top of these things! Please go see yourself to the party, will speak about this later" I sighed, nobody seems to do anything right - this is why woman should be running the business world.

"Your coat Miss Kimberley" The butler said handing it over to me - I was ready to get the hell out of here.

"Thank you" I thanked him pulling it on

"Kimberley!" My ex-girlfriend said coming over to me with a beaming smile spread across her face. Although we dated we still managed to stay as friends - I'm thankful for that.

"Hey Susan! How are you?" I asked greeting her with a kiss on the cheek and a friendly hug

"I'm good!"

"Heard you got married?" She looked happier than ever - I was glad someone could make her happy, I knew I couldn't

"Well, I couldn't wait for you" She laughed; getting a laugh from me as well - that is true; I was never one to fully commit

"Susan tell me something" I started

"Yes?"

"When you and I were dating, did you speak to my secretary more than you spoke to me?" I asked

"She was one of my bridesmaids" She smiled lightly, I guess Linda had a reason to shout at me minutes ago.

"Hmm, your partners very lucky! I'm glad to see you smiling" I said giving her one last kiss and walking out of the party. I couldn't wait to get back to my hotel - I needed to get back to work
