Best District (+1)Originally there were quite a few districts that stood out as being filled with strong contenders, but even amongst them, despite the lack of seeded players, this district stood out from the start for being home to the two highest scorers, who made their way all the way to quarterfinals and semifinals respectively. Amusingly enough, this district was the last female spot to be claimed and the last male spot as well!
The Winner: District Five, Avner Emerson and Vivienne Bright (RappyTheDinosaur and theravensdiadem)
Best Character (+2, +1 for Runner Up):
There were a lot of brilliant characters in these Games, no matter if they came in halfway through or right in the beginning. Our runner-up, written by an author known for creative characters, was an idea I've been waiting to see for ages now and was quite refreshing. Our winner, who may have been less likeable, remained steadily enjoyed by me and by readers for that particular reason: just how perversely logical her every decision was.
Runner Up: Avner Emerson (RappyTheDinosaur)
Winner: Anna Smith (Learning_to_Breathe)Best Newbie (+2, +1 for Runner Up)
This award goes to an author who is decidedly up-and-coming throughout Games, having not only made her mark in these Games, but recently winning her first Author_Games on her first shot, which is a heavily remarkable feat! (I'd know. Took me about six bloody times). Both she and the runner-up are gradually popping up in more and more Games, which makes me very excited to know we'll be seeing more of them!
Runner Up: AmandaShadowhunter (Tesla Slater)
Winner: theravensdiadem (Vivienne Bright)Dark Horse (+1)
While both authors most considered for this award winded up showing they were more than capable of succeeding, they got on to a rough start, both scoring an unnoticeable score of 8. However, a handful of strong entries brought them into being clear contenders and more than redeeming their rocky beginnings.
Runner Up: Tesla Slater (AmandaShadowhunter)
Winner: Amity Fleeden (EverydayAwkwardness)Reverse Dark Horse (+1)
This award, new to my Games but not to Wattpad, acknowledges that as much as we might sometimes wish a character success and expect it to happen, there's always one or two who leave before their time. Therefore, our runner-up is a seeded player who sadly had to drop out far before their time, and our winner is an author renowned for being good, who happened to forget a deadline and left far too early.
Runner Up: Jaxon Colby (ElfOfResilience) [7]
Winner: Howl Labyrine (HeadOnJackwards)Best Entry (+2, +1 for Runner Up)
Like last Games, the winner and runner-up of this award were incredibly hard to choose - and that's after I managed to narrow it down to those that scored perfectly! Our runner-up was a brilliantly executed thought piece created from a task that I thought would be a little slow due to how vague it was. Our winner managed not only to have strong conflict, grammar and plot, but also made the reader feel as if the character was an old friend, despite their just being introduced.
Runner Up: Anna Smith ~ The Exile (Learning_to_Breathe)
Winner: Avner Emerson ~ The Decision (RappyTheDinosaur)Best Name (+1)
This award is one of our slightly sillier awards, though not any less important; a good/remarkable name helps your character be liked/noticed from the start. After all, who doesn't get a kick out of Little Miss Alphabet or a reference to a lovely Studio Ghibli film?
Runner Up: Elemenope Hastings (MaSoAnglomaniaHamlet)
Winner: Howl Labyrine (HeadOnJackwards)The Newly Renamed Sierra Award for Procrastination (+1)
I think the name of this award makes its winner pretty obvious. The amount of times she's given me a heart attack for handing it at the literal last minute or even on the clock is frankly alarming! If you're looking for a reason why I don't post at five on the dot, there she is!
Runner Up: TheDarkHorse (Selene Albright) [5]
Winner: SilverAndGoldfish (Virgo Alizé/Jace Argentaria) [1]The Bless Your Soul/Early Bird Award (+2)
This award goes to a person who truly brings joy to my heart - and happens to be the same one as in the last Games. This author usually hands in their entries before half the time is gone, always leaving me plenty of time to read properly and score over and over again.
Winner: Clove_Thenardier (Dove Evans) [6]
The Most Amusing Character Award (+1)
This author's characters are known for their loveable quirk, and so it wouldn't do not to reward a brilliant example of that. Every entry of hers I read, I was torn between "she's adorable", "she's hilarious" and "she's utterly freaking terrifying", smiling all throughout.
Winner: Damaris Sultari (RedTears)
The Iceberg Award (+1)
Fuck you, Mags <3
Winner: Hettie Burris about half the tasks tbh (MagmaKepner)
