Princeton...

It was 3:00. I just ended my shift and I just picked up my son. Kaylynne called me, but I haven't listened to the voice mail. I buckled him in his car seat and he was sleep. Thank Gawd. I had to stop at a store to get some diapers, but today was his last day with me. He'd be with his mother for the first time basically. I put the car seat in the buggy, and went inside the store. I looked at the prices and i bumped into someone, spilling their drink. Oops.

Princeton-I'm so sorry

???-Its...it's okay

She grabbed a napkin from  her purse, wiping the smudged stains. I tried helping but she obliged and said she needed no help.

???-See, all done

Princeton-I am truly sorry though

Princeton-Call me Princeton Mrs.-

???-My names Stephanie, and im not married

Princeton-Then why is there a ring on your finger?

Stephanie-It's a ring from my grandmother, she gave it to me before she passed away

Princeton-Oh, I'm sorry for your loss

Stephanie-Oh its ok, the last thing she wanted was for some one to feel bad for her. I think of it like this, she's not really gone, she's just upstairs.

She trailed her eyes towards my son.

She smiled and stared in Aww, approaching him

Stephanie-He is so cute, what his name?

Princeton-Emanuel

Stephanie-That's a cute name *squeezes his chuby cheeks*

Well, I'm gonna go, nephew's in the hospital.

Princeton-Wow, ok, can i have your number?

Stephanie-Haha, sure Princeton

She took out a pen and a peice of paper, writing her number down. She gave me the paper and walked away. I could smell her scent on the plain sheet. I stuffed it in my pocket, and purchased my little mans diapers. I grabbed his carseat and buckled him in the seat belt. I closed the door and sat in the front seat. I was ready to pull off, but i saw i still had Kaylynne's voicemail.

**                                                                                         **            "Hey, Its Kaylynne. I was just calling to say thanks and I-"

Ray-So you talking to him now?

Kay-Ray, what are you talking about?

Ray-Give me the phone

Kay-What no

Ray-Kaylynne, give me the motherfucking phone

I was shocked. I was surprised. I felt bad. This time i actually felt for her. I mean, they were the best couple and now they are going through things. I just hope she is okay. A tear went past my eyelid. Ray sounded like a beast, and Kaylynne just sounded scared for a moment. He must have pushed her down the steps, because i heard the noise it usually makes. I put on my seat belt and drove off heading towards her house to drop off my son

**At The House**

I walked towards the door holding Emanuel in my hand . I knocked and waited for an aswer.

Kay...

Gosh. I swear Ray is getting on my nerves. He still comes home smelling like weed.                                                             "We talked about this, more than once, and you still do it". I say throwing a book at him. He didn't reply after that. As he walked upstairs i heard a knock on the door. I answered, thank God it was Princeton and my baby.

Kay-Hey

Princeton-Hey, sorry is this a bad time?

Kay-Nope, come in

He walked in sitting down on the couch,taking Emanuel out of his car seat. I sat next to him resting my sore feet.

Princeton-Kaylynne

Kay-Yes

Princeton-I uhm, I got your message, and i heard everything. Do you want to tell me what happened?

Kay-Yeah, I do need someone to talk to

Princeton-Ok well shoot

Kay-Well, it was Ray's first day back from the army, and  he never came home. He finally did, and so the next day i left early because Aaliyah got sick. He got mad at me because i didn't tell him where i went. He keeps coming home high, or drunk. I'm starting to think about getting a divorce. I don't want to, but i think it's the right route for me to take

Princeton-Wow, have you told anyone

Kay-No, im too scared that if he finds out-

Ray-Find out what Kaylynne?

He was closing the hallway door as he spoke.  I turned my head and watched as he began to approach the couch i was sitting on. A felling of nervousness shot through me. I was scared.

Kay-Nothing

Ray-No tell me, you can't hide it anymore

Kay-Ray, i said it's nothing

Ray-Ok well let me just guess, you had a kid by someone else?

Kay-That's really fucked up to say to me Rayon.

Ray-Well it's the truth, i mean he is sitting right there. So disrespectful.

He was now sitting on the chair in the dining room. I sighed and rubbed my temples in frustration.

Ray-What's the secret Kaylynne?

Kay-There is no secret

Ray-What the fuck are you scared of?

"......"

Ray-Hello

I just blocked him out of my hearing. I had forgotten Princeton was sitting next to me for a moment.

Kay-Just bring Manie (man-ee) home next weekend. Okay Princeton?

Princeton-Okay

I hugged him and kissed my baby.

Princeton-Stay safe

Kay-I will try
