"No fair
You really know how to make me cry
When you gimme those ocean eyes
I'm scared"

*Emily's Point Of View*
I stayed there for a while just letting what just happened in. I sighed deeply before opening my door and shutting it quietly behind me.
Ever since Jake and I happened, I haven't looked for or even found a guy that I felt a connection with. Sure there have been guys that I've found attractive but they were just looking for a quick fuck.
I washed my face, making a mental note to have a shower in the morning because I was too drained from the flight, lack of sleep and the events that had occurred tonight.
I jumped into bed, plugging my phone into my charger. I went on Snapchat and sent Shawn a quick message.
me: goodnight
I stared at my screen, him opening it instantly. I was surprised to see the three dots come up that he was typing.
shawnmendes1: night.
I was disappointed with the lack of care in his text but it was something. I was determined to at least be friends with the guy, I mean he is going to be living in the same house as me for the years.
I turned my phone off before setting it on my bedside table beside me. I flicked my lamp off, snuggling under my covers and slowly began drifting off to sleep. The only sound that could be heard was the light traffic below us.

The smell of cooked bacon woke me up as I sniffed continuously to make sure my mind wasn't playing tricks on me. My eyes fluttered open as I sat up and stretched, glancing at my clock seeing it was 10 past 9 am.
I grabbed my phone unplugging it before making my way towards the kitchen.
I walked down the hallway to the sight of Shawn standing in front of the stove shirtless a pan in his right hand as he flipped the bacon.
The other pan having two eggs on it.
Either he was a hungry man or he decided to make me breakfast as well.
"That smells good" I spoke up making him jump.
"Shit. You scared the fuck out of me" he said turning to face me.
"Sorry. Didn't mean to scare ya'" I said with a giggle. My eyes scanning down his bare chest.
"I'm going to quickly grab a shirt" he said realising I was staring. I blushed bright red in embarrassment as he grabbed a shirt before quickly returning.
"How'd you sleep?" I asked attempting to start any sort of conversation.
"Yea good I guess" he said with a shrug grabbing two plates and two glasses out.
"How about you?" He mumbled opening the fridge. I glanced in seeing a full fridge. Well he must've gotten up early to go shopping.
"Yea alright" I said taking a sip of the juice he poured.
It was silent between us as I didn't know what else to say. I wanted to know more about him but I didn't want him to get mad at me again.
"It must suck being further away from home now hey?" I asked looking at him as he froze at the sound of my voice for a split second before moving once again.
"Uhh- Yeah I guess so... I'm kinda' used to it by now" he said shrugging as he placed a few pieces of bacon and an egg on each of our plates.
He sat beside me on the stool as he pushed our plates forwards.
"Do you have any friends in LA?" I asked beginning to eat my breakfast.
"Yea" He said straight forward. I nodded in response not wanting the conversation to die off, so I began asking more questions.
"Have you been to LA before?"
"Yep."
"Where you always a body guard?" I asked curiously.
"Nope" He said simply.
"What were you before being a body guard?"
"What's with all the questions?" He asked glancing up at me from the corner of his eye.
"Well I mean we are going to be living together for 3 years so I thought we should get to know each other more" I said smiling then taking another bite of bacon.
"I'm your body guard. Not your best friend" he said continuing to eat.
I sighed suddenly not in the mood to eat anymore, losing my appetite at the fact that this was going to be another shitty few years.
"I'm just trying to be nice" I mumbled quietly.
"Well you don't need to be" he said sharply.
I pushed the stool back.
"I'm not hungry anymore" I whispered before rushing to my room, shutting the door softly behind me.
God that was embarrassing.
I heard the sounds of cutlery and plates. He's obviously finished his breakfast.
I laid back down on my bed opening my phone and scrolling aimlessly through Instagram.
My door suddenly swung open.
"I'm your body guard. Not your slave. Don't make me clean up your shit again" he spat with a glare.
If this was how he was going to act so be it.
"Whatever" I said with the roll of my eyes.
"How about have some respect" he spoke harshly.
I looked at him with raised eyebrows and a gaped mouth.
"Are you seriously asking me to respect you? When you've constantly been treating me like absolute shit ever since you got this job" I said.
I heard him mumbled under his breath but I was unsure on what he said.
He soon walked out and shut the door behind him.
I get it's awkward the way this turned out but there's no need to be a complete dick about it.
Two can play that game.
