"I know we'll be alright this time
Darling, just hold my hand
Be my girl, I'll be your man
I see my future in your eyes"

*Emily's Point Of View*

I was now seven months along and I could finally no longer see my toes. My stomach had slowly gotten bigger and bigger, now looking like the size of a bloody watermelon.

I had barely done anything the past few months, just secretly stress cleaning whilst Shawn showered or cooked. He hated me even picking up a plate to put in the sink. At times it was frustrating feeling as useful as a rock but I knew his intentions were good.

This was both our first child and we didn't have any clue what we were doing. Shawn had spent a lot of money on pregnancy website subscriptions and baby books.

He even tried to convince me to go to one of the birthing classes but profusely refused.

We had discussed a few names if it was a girl, and a few names if it was a boy. We decided on either Thomas, Jeremy or Nicholas for a boy and Skylar, Mikayla or Bianca for a girl. Shawn was completely set on Skylar but I wasn't one hundred percent yet.

I rubbed soothing circles with my hand over my covered stomach as I laid back on the couch, my feet kicked up onto the cushioned foot stool.

A Tom and Jerry cartoon played aimlessly in the background, but I was too focused on the small movements of my child in my stomach.

"Can I see it yet?" I shouted out through the house.

"Umm... give me a few more minutes" I heard Shawn yell back making me roll my eyes an unintended smile rising to my lips.

It was so weird how much had changed in the past two years. I had intended on moving to Los Angeles to study and finish my psychology degree at the UCLA campus, yet here I was struggling to finish my now online course.

I had gained a security guard who happened to be my best friend and the love of my life all in one. I was so excited to finally give birth to our baby so we could finally get married and tie the knot.

Whenever we gave birth, we were planning to tie the knot a few months later, precisely four. It wasn't a lot of time to work off this extra fat but I didn't care. I was so in love with Shawn that I just wanted to do it. I didn't care if I was in a trash bag or it was held in our living room. I just wanted to be able to call him my forever. My husband.

He had begged and begged that he plan the whole wedding himself so give myself some 'stress relief'. I was grateful but also a little disappointed and upset that I had planned every detail into my journal of my wedding and now I couldn't plan it as much as I'd wished. It didn't matter though, as long as it was with Shawn than everything would be perfect.

"Okay, you can see it now!" I heard Shawn hell rushing down the hall, interrupting me from my picturesque thoughts of Shawn in a tuxedo.

I placed my swollen feet onto the ground before lifting myself up and off the couch, waddling towards a awfully smiley Shawn.

"Come on baby" he said grabbing my hand and helping me walk down the hall.

"Okay, I still have to get some more toys and things for her-"

"Shawn it could be a boy" I interrupted making him shake his head and completely ignore me. He was set on it being a girl and naming her Skylar. And for his sakes I hoped it was a girl so he wouldn't be upset. He would be heartbroken, but would lovely the baby no matter what. He would be an amazing father.

"Okay, are you ready?" He asked placing both of his hands over my eyes.

"Oh we're doing this again?" I asked with a giggle gesturing towards his hands, memories flooding back of the many times he blind folded me and surprised me with the most amazing things. I hoped the trend would continue.

"Okay just take a few steps forward" he said now standing in front of me as he helped direct me.

"Okay, open your eyes in...

Three,

Two,

One..." he said pulling his palms away from my face, letting my eyes flutter open to the nursery room that Shawn had been secretly working on for the past few months.

"Oh my..." I whispered as my eyes flickered from every wall to every item in the room in under thirty seconds.

The walls were painted in a triangular pattern with some triangles being pink and some being blue. There was a pink rug on the ground with a small cot in the right corner of the room, a beautiful mobile hanging above it.

What made me even more emotional was the massive photo frame on the wall, photos of Shawn and I throughout the past few years, most of the frames being left empty to be filled with the many more memories we would fill with our baby and together as a family.

"Shawn" I whispered letting my head fall into my palms as I began to erratically sob.

"You don't like it? I'm sorry! I'll get someone to fix it!" He said pulling me into his arms as I cried in his chest, my pregnancy hormones overcoming my body.

"N-no... it's beautiful Shawn. So so beautiful" I got out between my cries as I wiped my thumbs under my eyes.

"I love it" I said spinning around to get a full view of everything. "I love you" I whispered facing towards him in the end.

He had on a black T-shirt as always with small streaks of blue paint on it.

"You wanna know something?" He said grabbing my waist, pulling my body closer towards him.

"What?" I said softly, a giggle escaping my lips.

"That I love you too... but I originally painted this whole room pink. Then I painted those blue today" he said pointing to the blue triangles on the wall.

I threw my head back in laughter. Of course he would.

"Well I hope it's a girl too" I said making him smile and pull me in for a kiss.
