"I never wondered,
What they really are,
It doesn't matter to me,
Baby I just wanna live right"

*Emily's Point of View*

I held the thin piece of paper in my shaky hands as I skimmed over the words.

'Dear Emily Rose,

Congratulations! It's with great pleasure that I offer you admission to the University of California, Los Angeles.'

I reread that same sentence over and over again until my eyes felt like they were going to cross over. I squealed in excitement hopping off the couch and running upstairs.

You could hear my loud footsteps running on the stairs and down the hallway to my fathers office.

"Dad! Dad! Look what I got!" I cheered swinging his door open to see him sitting behind his desk, a pen in his right hand with his glasses sitting on the brim of his nose.

He looked at me and chuckled at my inability to stay still for longer than 3 seconds.

"What is it?" He asked his eyes drifting towards the piece of paper in my hand.

I pushed it across his desk until it was right in front of him. He picked it up before it eyes ran over the letter. The longer he held it and read the words, the higher his eyebrows rose and the larger his grin was.

"You got in to UCLA" he spoke putting the letter back down. He stood out of his chair, coming around to me and pulling me into a tight hug.

"All those tests, and long study nights really paid off hey? You don't regret not going to those parties now do you?" He spoke handing me back the letter.

I bit my lip holding back a laugh.

"Yea dad totally worth it" I responded looking back down at the letter.

I did study during my last year of high school, but I also did go to multiple of those parties with the helpful use of a window and an old tree house beside to get me there.

Of course with the most important help from my best friend Carly, who always parked at the end of the street to take us there.

Why don't I have a license you ask? Well when your dad is the president of the United States he tends to think it's unnecessary because we have a driver. His name was Ronald, Ron for short. And he was really nice and always up for a good chat when we drove.

"Now... I know your going to be on the other side of the country. And yes. I know that Carly is coming with you as well but I don't want to risk you getting hurt or followed" he spoke crossing his arms over his chest.

My eyebrows furrowed in confusion at walk he was getting at. Would he put a tracking device on me? Was I supposed to have a bullet proof vest on wherever I went?

"So I've hired a personal body guard whilst your in college in Los Angeles" he said watching me intently on my reaction.

"What? A body guard? Dad I'm moving across state not to another Continent. What will all the kids think when I have some bulky tall man with a gun in his pocket?" I argued back thinking of some way to talk him out of this.

"Emily. Ivan had one when he went to Stanford in Los Angeles. Now look at him he owns his own company. He wouldn't have done that if he didn't have a body guard to protect him from who knows what!" He spoke sternly beginning to get serious.

"But dad! This is going to be so embarrassing!" I yelled.

"Emily. Your getting a body guard and that's final" he said turning around to sit back at his desk.

"Argh! I did not sign up for this! I just want to have a normal college experience like everyone else!" I yelled stomping out of the room.

I walked down the hallway and into my room slamming the door shut loudly behind me. I groaned leaning back against my door, running my fingers through my blonde hair.

I flopped down onto my bed reaching for my phone. I swiped into my contacts clicking Carly's name as it began to ring.

I held it up against my ear waiting for an answer which came quickly after.

"Hello you!" She spoke into the phone.

"Hey! You are never going to believe what I just got?" I said picking on my nails.

"What?"

"I got into UCLA!" I cheered instantly getting a response of cheers and congratulations.

"I knew you'd get in" She spoke happily.

"But..." I began.

"Oh no... there's always a But with you" she replied.

"My dad is forcing me to have a personal body guard whilst I'm in college at UCLA. How stupid!" I yelled my frustration levels rising.

"Oh that's shit! Don't worry if we can sneak you out to parties from your dad, the president of the United States' then I'm sure we can get past some body guard" she spoke calmly soothing my nerves of this whole body guard situation.

"I guess so..." I spoke softly.

"And besides. Maybe he'll be cute. You can finally move on from Jake" she said making me roll my eyes.

"Carly. He's a body guard for my father. He's obviously going to be over the age of 30. That's a no go. And he's my body guard. That's just weird." I replied making her laugh loudly.

"Anyway I've got to go but I'll talk to you soon. Okay?" She spoke into the phone.

"Yep I'll talk soon. Byeeee" I said dragging out the word 'bye' before hanging up.

Throwing my phone to the end of my bed I stood up and stood in front of the mirror.

I placed my hands on my hips as I scanned myself.

This girl is going UCLA. I squealed in excitement to finally get out of this White House infested with my dads workers and security in just under a month.
