It had been months since the family dinner and life had changed dramatically. It wasn't long after the family meal that DJ and Kath made the decision to move in together permanently, and they sold both their houses to move somewhere closer to the Padillas. Their home wasn't extravagant, but it was more than big enough for their growing family and Noah loved getting to live with both of his parents all the time and he could see his other family more often, too. It was relaxing for both DJ and Kath to know that they were closer to family and that they were together - their new home was perfect to bring home their baby girl. They'd kept the pregnancy hidden from fans still, even though theories were running wild online and most of them already knew that she was expecting a baby - she hadn't worn anything clingy for months, she didn't attend events or do interviews or concerts. Teddy had proven himself so far - he'd entered rehab and stayed there for three months before they let him go and Kath helped him move into a new two bedroomed house. It was small, but it was big enough for just him and for if they ever felt comfortable enough to let the kids sleep over at his house. He was still trying to find himself a job, but he was taking it seriously and it made DJ beam with pride to see how happy Kath was to have her Dad finally take his recovery seriously, even though it was Max who she had more of a father-daughter relationship with. Noah was getting increasingly more excited as time went on, and he went to every single hospital appointment with his parents - he was there to witness the doctor say that he was going to have a baby sister and that made him even more protective over his Mom. Karla was emotional at the news too, since as she'd never been around a baby girl before and she could finally spoil a little girl, Rommel was just glad that the baby was still healthy and happy after a very rough start at the beginning of the pregnancy. It meant a lot to the entire family that they could start to relax and enjoy themselves in preparation for the baby girl's arrival.
DJ came into the living room, groaning dramatically and Kath couldn't help but laugh, watching as he dropped down onto the couch beside her.
"Noah asleep?" Kath asked playfully.
"Five bedtime stories and an entire interview later, yes." He teased, making her laugh again. "He kept asking when the baby was going to be here... he's getting impatient." He said simply, placing a hand on Kath's swollen stomach and she smiled softly and tiredly.
"I'm getting impatient too, but she'll be here soon... then she'll be screaming the house down and we'll be begging for her to go back where she came from." Kath teased and DJ burst out laughing, pecking her lips before planting a kiss on her swollen stomach and they both smiled when they felt their daughter move.
"I'm sorry you had to hear Mommy be mean about you, princess. Daddy will protect you." DJ said dramatically, chuckling when Kath smacked the back of his head playfully.
"I thought of a name for her."
"Oh, yeah?" He said, looking up at her.
"Dylan... I know it's typically a boy name and everything, but it just came to me and-" DJ connected their lips, making her stop talking and she kissed him back for a moment before they slowly pulled away from each other.
"I love it."
"You do?"
"It's perfect - Dylan Padilla-Bernardo."
"No... no, just Padilla," Kath said and DJ's eyes widened, looking up at her.
"I-I thought she was going to be a Bernardo too?"
"She's Noah's brother and he's my son, whether we're blood related or not... Dylan is a Padilla." She said and DJ grinned, connecting their lips and she kissed him back deeply for a moment before they pulled away from each other.
"I love you so much." He practically whispered.
"I love you too." She replied, the two of them sharing another kiss. "But, I think we can announce it to the world now." Kath breathed and DJ smiled, nodding in agreement but he made no attempt to move. He loved holding his girlfriend, his hands on her bump - it made him feel close to their daughter, protecting his girls as their son slept peacefully upstairs. Kath reached and grabbed her phone from the coffee table, taking a picture and she grinned as she sent it to DJ, who took his phone out when it vibrated and he couldn't help but smile too.
"Instagram?" He guessed and Kath nodded her head, the two of them opening their Instagram accounts. DJ's Instagram had blown up since they were public with their relationship and because of his tattoo work with Jason, it made him smile to know how proud Kath was of him. He chuckled when he saw the notification for Kath's post:
He liked the post before uploading the same picture with just a simple caption: 'See you in six weeks, baby girl'.
They set their phones aside as their Instagrams blew up with comments and likes, ignoring it all for the time being and just spending time together.
