Chapter 84

It had been just over two weeks since Kath collapsed and she'd been taking care of herself ever since - she made sure she ate at least three times a day, drank enough and she slept whenever she was tired and Dylan was napping. DJ had returned to work since his paternity leave was over, but he'd stuck to his word and they'd all gone out as a family on his day off, just the four of them. Noah still didn't know about the baby, but they wanted to tell him together when they had an ultrasound picture. They weren't sure how he was going to take it since as Dylan was still only a baby, but they hoped he'd be excited to be a big brother again. Kath's fans were still supportive of her, loving it when she posted pictures and videos of the kids or when she was with DJ - it was like they were back together, only they didn't live together and they didn't kiss. They were close friends and that helped Kath to forget about the fact that he'd cheated on her when they were together. Noah and Jasmine had met up twice more since their day at the Zoo, but Noah didn't talk about it with Kath much.

Kath curled up with Dylan in the armchair in the bedroom, a book she read to Noah open in her hands but she read it to Dylan the same way she would if it were her son she'd be reading it to. Dylan was settled after a feed, slowly letting herself fall asleep to the sound of Kath's voice as she was read to and Kath carefully set the book down when she was sure her baby girl was asleep and she walked over to the crib, lying Dylan down and swaddling her loosely.

"We need to get a move on to find somewhere to live, baby girl... before your little brother or sister gets here." Kath whispered, leaning down and kissing her head. "But don't you worry, okay? Mommy will always have time for you... you'll always be my little miracle baby, no matter what anybody says." She whispered, caressing her cheek for a moment before she headed into the living room. She was staying away from her phone, knowing that DJ's rescheduled date with Jasmine was that night and she knew already that she'd be tagged in a lot of posts about it - she still found it hard to trust Jasmine, but she tried hard not to let that show in front of Noah. They'd only just spent time with each other the day before, but Noah didn't talk about it at all with Kath when she called, only saying that she came over for dinner and what they ate. 

Kath picked up her laptop from the table, starting to look at property websites - Rommel was babysitting Noah whilst DJ was out on his date, but DJ wasn't planning on staying out late so he would go to pick up Noah to bring him home once he'd finished having dinner with Jasmine. Kath just tried to focus on trying to find herself a house, but all she could find were apartments and she didn't want an apartment when she'd have two babies and a five-year-old with her.

She groaned when there was a knock on the door of her apartment, knowing it had to be someone she knew since as the hotel reception wouldn't let them up otherwise. She set her laptop to the side before going to answer the door and she smiled when she saw Enrique at the door. "Hey! What are you doing here?" She asked, leading him through the hotel room and towards the living room.

"It's Alex's night with my ex's parents, so I thought I'd come and spend some time with you!" Enrique said, falling back on the couch with her and she smiled, joining him.

"Well, I appreciate the company - I need an excuse to stop getting mad at property sites." Kath groaned, making him laugh and he wrapped an arm around her shoulders, bringing her into his side.

"Aw, is the poor baby frustrated?" He cooed and Kath laughed, fighting him off of her but he was stronger than her, laughing with her and somehow, in the heat of the moment, Enrique crashed his lips against hers. "I... I'm sorry." He breathed, but she said nothing - she kissed him again, but it was deeper, heated. Enrique laid her back on the couch, keeping her close to him as they lost themselves in each other, not thinking of anything else in the world.

Enrique collapsed back against the couch beside her, both of them fighting to catch their breaths. Kath's eyes were locked on Enrique, enjoying the affection he was giving her as he ran his fingertips across her face.

"I'm pregnant," Kath said softly and Enrique laughed.

"I don't think it works that fast." He joked, but his smile turned to an expression of shock. "DJ's baby?"

"Yeah... it's high risk... I'm sorry I didn't tell you sooner-" Enrique cut her off with a kiss and she kissed him back instantly.

"Shut up, Bernardo." He teased, making her smile and they kissed again - slowly falling asleep naked and tangled in each other on the couch.
