Chapter 104

DJ groaned as he fell back against the couch once everybody had gone home and he closed his eyes, grabbing Kath from where she was sat a little further down the couch from him and she yelped with surprise as he pulled her down to join him lying on the couch so she made herself comfortable and laid with her head on his chest.

"I told you I could have helped you clean up," Kath said softly, but DJ shook his head.

"You're pregnant," DJ said simply and Kath couldn't help but smile.

"Yes... pregnant, not disabled." She reminded him, smiling as DJ opened his eyes and he couldn't help but smile back at her, tucking a lock of hair behind her ear for her so that it wasn't covering her face.

"When did you find out?" He asked, playing with her fingers.

"About a week ago... I went to the doctor after I dropped Noah off at school and when you were at work, had blood work done and I got a phone call that afternoon - I just wanted to make the announcement special," Kath said with a smile and DJ grinned, kissing her lips softly and she kissed him back.

"I don't want you to be scared," DJ said softly and Kath bit her lip.

"I think I'll always be scared that what happened before will happen again... but if it does, I have you."

"You'll always have me," DJ vowed, pecking her lips. "I'm not letting you go again, I'm never messing up what we have."

"Good... and did you ever think about how we met? We met because I kidnapped your son and made him mine." Kath smirked and DJ burst out laughing.

"Yeah, I suppose you did."

"Hey! I got you your dream job, so I think that makes us even." Kath defended herself, making DJ laugh and he kissed her forehead as he lay her head back on his chest.

"I want you to adopt Noah," DJ said and Kath instantly picked her head up again, looking at him with tear-filled eyes.

"What?"

"I don't know why we didn't do it before... but no matter what happens, you are that boy's Mom - since the second he laid his eyes on you, you were what he wanted and what he needed and he'll always feel that way about you and I'm honored he chose someone as incredible as you... listening to Enrique and Liza say that they're gonna be a real family... it made me think about how much I want that for us, too. I don't want you to just be his stepmom when we get married, I want you to be his Mom, to have all the rights over him that his real Mom would have." DJ said, wiping away her falling tears and Kath nodded her head, connecting their lips.

"I'd love to." She breathed, making DJ smile and he kissed her back, the two of them slowly getting lost in each other.

"Daddy?" DJ instantly pulled away from Kath, the two of them breathless and they turned their heads to see Noah stood in the doorway.

"Hey, monster, I thought you were sleeping?" DJ asked, Kath trying hard not to laugh as he turned himself slightly more into her, hiding the bulge in his pants from their son.

"Can I stay up?" Noah asked and Kath laughed.

"Really? You've had two nights in a row past your bedtime and you're asking to stay up longer?" Kath smirked and Noah giggled, smiling innocently at his Mom.

"Can I have a drink then?" Noah asked and Kath just laughed again, climbing over DJ.

"Nice try, monster. I admire the attempt." She said, taking his hand and leading him back upstairs and to his room, tucking him back into bed and she made sure he had Leo with him - he still couldn't sleep without him and it made her smile to see the jacket she gave him the night they first met at the foot of the bed. She didn't wear it anymore, but she sometimes sprayed it with her perfume for him, knowing he liked to wear it if he was nervous about something or just wanted some comfort.

"Auntie Liza is going to be Alex's real Mommy, isn't she?"

"Yeah, honey, she is... but Daddy and I were talking and... we decided that I'm going to adopt you, too - you'll be my real son," Kath said and she grinned as Noah locked his arms around her neck and she hugged him back, kissing his shoulder before they slowly pulled away from each other.

"Can I have a drink now? A toast?" He asked with a grin and Kath laughed, ruffling his hair.

"Again, nice try." She praised, tucking him in again. "I'll see you in the morning, monster."

"Goodnight, Mommy," Noah whispered, closing his eyes as Kath gave him a kiss and he was asleep before she'd even made it out of his bedroom. She checked on Dylan whilst she was upstairs, smiling when she saw her little girl still sound asleep in her crib.

Kath headed downstairs, squealing as DJ locked his arms around her from behind.

"Baby girl, I want you so much." He breathed.

"Prove it." She breathed, turning around and their lips crashed together, DJ carrying his fiancée back upstairs and to their bedroom.
