"You want a dessert? I'm gonna order one anyway, but I thought I'd be polite." DJ smirked and Kath couldn't help but laugh, nodding her head.

"This place has the best chocolate cake - you should have hidden the ring in that, you know I order it every time we come here." Kath teased and DJ hit the table, making her laugh.

"Damn it!" He grumbled, but he broke into a smile when she laughed harder - he adored her laugh, he'd do anything to make her smile. It lit up the entire room. He called over the waiter, always being sure to be polite about it and that was something Kath admired about him - no matter what, he was always polite to people unless they'd done him wrong.

"Would you like to order something from the dessert menu this evening?" The waiter asked, pulling out his notepad when he saw them both nodding and DJ motioned for Kath to go first.

"I'll have a chocolate cake, please." She said politely, a small smile on her face as the waiter wrote it down with a smile.

"And for you, sir?"

"I'll have the gelato sundae," DJ smirked as Kath rolled her eyes playfully, it was what he ordered all the time too.

"Any coffees to go with that?" The waiter asked, DJ shaking his head.

"No, we're good with water, thanks," DJ said and the waiter nodded before walking away and Kath raised an eyebrow.

"I might have wanted a coffee," Kath said and DJ chuckled.

"You wouldn't, though, because you're allowed one cup a day when breastfeeding and you have yours in the afternoon during Dylan's nap," DJ said and Kath couldn't help but grin.

"I think we skipped a few steps when we first got together, huh?" Kath breathed. "Because we never really got to do this." She added and DJ took her hand again, playing with her fingers and the engagement ring caught the light every time he moved her fingers a certain way.

"We'll have a date night from now on... once a week, or once every two weeks... we'll go out and do something, just the two of us," DJ said and Kath smiled, nodding her head.

"We should have started doing that months ago."

"This is our fresh start, okay? Because I'm never letting you go again." DJ said and Kath just smiled through her blush.

"Good... I just can't wait for the four of us to be together again... and I know it's stupid because I was barely pregnant, but... could we do something for the baby at home? Plant a tree or something - the kids can help look after it... Noah understands what happened, it'll be good for him to have something to let him think about what happened and for us to just have a quiet place." Kath breathed, DJ gently squeezing her hand and he ran his thumb across the back of her hand.

"We'll go out on Sunday and we'll buy a tree... one that looks like a little twig, and we'll plant it as a family. Noah can make a little plaque to put in front of it, he'd like that. It's not stupid - whether you were a month pregnant or nine months pregnant, that child was still ours." DJ breathed and Kath's eyes lined with tears and she nodded her head, blinking her tears away.

"Thank you." She choked out, squeezing his hand. "I-Is Noah seeing Jasmine tomorrow?" Kath asked and DJ nodded his head.

"For the first time, unsupervised... means I can come over after I've dropped him off and I can help you move back in and we can really surprise him," DJ said with a smile and Kath couldn't help but smile back.

"Sounds perfect to me. What are they gonna be doing?" Kath asked, but she let go of DJ's hand as the waiter returned with their desserts, setting the right dessert in front of the right person, the two of them thanking him before he left them alone.

"I'm not entirely sure, I think it's just gonna be down to what Noah wants to do. He's still a little quiet around her, even after all this time - I'm hoping it improves when he doesn't have me around to cling to." DJ said and Kath hesitated before nodding her head but she practically moaned as she took her first bite of the cake and DJ burst out laughing. "Careful, babe, this is a family restaurant." DJ teased and Kath laughed, a blush coming to her cheeks.

"You called me 'babe'... I missed it." She breathed and DJ grinned at her.

"I missed it, too. I missed you and Dylan so much." DJ breathed, leaning over so they'd share another kiss - every kiss felt like the first time, it was always perfect. "What time is Dylan normally ready in the morning? Awake and fed?" DJ asked and Kath thought about it for a moment.

"Half seven, normally? Because she wakes up at quarter to seven... then she's napping at probably ten o'clock." Kath said and DJ smiled.

"Be ready at nine-thirty, I drop Noah off at Jasmine's at nine." DJ beamed and Kath grinned back at him - she was finally moving home with her baby girl.
