Chapter 103

"What's gonna happen tomorrow? Do you have a picture of her?" Kath questioned, excited and Liza laughed, sitting next to her on the couch and Alex went and dove onto Noah, the two boys laughing together and they played with Dylan.

"I don't have a picture, but she's a five-year-old white girl... her parents were young and immature, they didn't want to abort her so they gave her up for adoption but she's just really quiet so she hasn't clicked with a family before - they think because we have Alex and we're not living together yet, it might be a benefit for her... we have kids in our family, but she can have quiet time at home to settle in," Liza said, smiling and Kath grinned, hugging her again and Liza hugged her back.

"They asked if the fact she's white was an issue - as if anybody who's desperate to be a parent would care about that kinda thing," Enrique said, rolling his eyes.

"You can't blame them for asking, though... oh, I can't wait to meet her. You're gonna be such a good Mommy." Kath beamed and Liza was just fighting back her overwhelming urge to cry with happiness, being a mother was all she'd ever wanted and it was finally coming true.

"I can't have even done any of this without you, K... they loved your reference, you gave us the money... and we're filing for me to adopt Alex as soon as Chloe is settled if she's a good fit for us - we'll be a real family," Liza said with a grin and Kath couldn't wipe the smile from her face and she lifted up her glass, prompting everybody else in the room to do the same besides the kids, who were busy playing together with a few of Noah's toys.

"A toast! To Chloe, may she finally find a loving home with my best friend, who deserves this so much." Kath grinned, Liza finally letting a few tears fall as everybody toasted to her and Chloe, taking a drink from their glasses before putting them down.

"Momma!" Dylan exclaimed.

"Oh, baby girl! All this excitement and we almost forget it's your special day!" Kath exclaimed, making everybody laugh and she joined the kids on the floor, huffing dramatically as Alex leaped on her, laughing and she attacked him with kisses and tickles until he let go. Kath picked up the envelope, keeping it out of Noah's reach when he went to take it from her to open it for Dylan. "Ah! No, this one is for last." Kath said, handing it to DJ before she properly sat down on the floor between DJ's legs as he sat on the couch and she had Dylan in her lap, starting to help her open presents with Noah.

They took their time opening presents, letting Dylan have a little play with each new toy she got once JC had removed the tags - they all knew not to get her plastic toys or ones that made noises since as she wouldn't like it, so it wasn't hard to just take a tag off of her new bears and stuffed toys.

"You have lots of bears now, Dylan!" Karla said excitedly, making Dylan giggle and she held onto the last present before the envelope - a gift from Noah that he'd had to run up and get from his bedroom.

"Noah, when did you get this?" Kath asked and Noah smiled innocently.

"When I went out with Papi to get her birthday cake - I saved up for it," Noah said and DJ smiled proudly at his son.

"Noah, you don't have to use your allowance to buy presents for your sister, okay? You tell us how much that cost you and we'll give you your allowance back." DJ said, but Noah shook his head.

"No! Open it, Dylan!" Noah encouraged, ripping the paper a little bit to show her and Dylan tried to copy the movement, but she needed Kath's help to get it off completely and Kath smiled widely when she saw what it was - a bracelet with the word 'Sister' on it, made up of plastic beads that stretched to fit babies and toddlers' wrists.

"That's so sweet, Noah." Kath praised, kissing his head and he smiled, taking it from Kath and he pushed it onto Dylan's wrist, the baby girl amazed at the new feeling of it.

"Envelope now!" DJ exclaimed, making everybody laugh and Kath bit her lip as DJ went to hand it to her to open.

"You do it... it's more for you than it is for her anyway." Kath breathed and DJ's eyebrows creased in confusion but Noah dove into his lap, careful not to hit Kath in the process - just as curious to see what was inside as DJ was.

"Oh no, Kath put her nudes in an envelope!" JC announced dramatically, laughing when Kath kicked him. DJ opened the envelope, his eyes widening when he pulled out a piece of paper - blood test results.

"What's that, Daddy?"

"M-Mommy's having a baby." DJ breathed, the entire room erupting once again, but nobody held onto Kath tighter than DJ did - they cried together with happiness, clinging onto each other. No words had to be spoken for them to know just how much they loved one another.
