Serah watched the group. Chuck, her grandfather. Millie, her aunt. Gabriel, her dad.
"And, where exactly are dad and uncle Dean now?"
"They're looking for Amara," Gabriel explained.
"Okay, and, uhm... You two are... dating?"
"Were dating," Millie corrected.
"Wait, what?" Chuck asked.
"Well, your son is dating my brother which means you're way too old for me."
Serah chuckled. "Well, that sucks for you."
"Very sensitive of you," Chuck commented.
Millie sighed. "It's not a personal issue. I bet you're gonna find a lovely woman for yourself."
"Or a man," Serah suggested. "We're inclusive here."
Gabriel wrapped an arm around his daughter. "Amara might help us with the Empty thing."
A loud groan came from the hallway. Salome came down and walked towards them. "I give up," she declared. "Very educational, very unsatisfying."
"Yeah, we found different ways. We don't need your help." Serah leaned back in the chair she was sitting in.
"Rude," Salome commented. "But understandable. I would appreciate a call in case you make any progress on the matter." She handed the nephilim a business card and approached the door. Then, she turned around once more. "Have you, by any chance, met my cousin, Mona?"
Serah watched her. "Mona? Mona Ellerbee?" She furrowed her eyebrows. "She's related to you?"
"Wait," Gabriel turned to her. "You're cursed too?"
Salome shrugged. "Why do you think I'm interested in death?" She turned around and left the bunker.
Serah watched her father. "Cursed?"
"I'm not talking to you about this."
"Fine... Be a jerk about it." She leaned forward and kissed his cheek, just when her phone rang. "Instant jealousy," she giggled when she saw who called her.
"You saved your dad's contact as Tall One?"
"Yeah," Serah replied. "Dean is Slightly Less Tall One." She picked up the phone. "Hi, Dad."
"Hey," Sam replied. "Can you tell everyone we won't come home tonight?"
"Why?"
Sam sighed on the other end. "Some hunters called, they have problems with a hunt and we gotta take a trip to California."
"Oh geez. I'll tell them. Love you."
"Love you too," Sam replied and hung up.
Serah put the phone away. "Dean and Dad are out on a hunt in California."
"Did he say anything about Amara?" Gabriel asked.
Serah shook her head. "Nope. Maybe it's really urgent."
"I think dead angels rising up are urgent, too," Chuck commented.
Serah shrugged. "I only ever heard of one angel, and he didn't hurt anyone."
"He stabbed you."
"I stabbed myself a few times."
Gabriel sighed. "Maybe we should keep an eye on the news."
"So, what exactly is it that you're doing?" Millie asked.
"Well," Serah sighed. "It's complicated."
"They hunt monsters," Gabriel said. "Not that complicated."
"That's cool," Millie mumbled. "I mean, I dated God so why bother questioning that."
Serah crossed her arms. "Trust me, if I wasn't a part of it I wouldn't have believed it either." She sighed.
"Oh, and by the way," Gabriel added. "Your father? He's a douche."
"I thought he was dead," Millie said.
"He was. He's not anymore, though. Don't ask." Serah scratched her head. "I met him. He's a bit- well, a lot homophobic."
Millie gasped. "That's awful!" she exclaimed. "I bet this is a misunderstanding."
Serah chuckled. "Nope," she sighed. "Mary and I are going to meet him again tomorrow and see what's up." Once again, her phone rang.
"You weren't lying with the contacts," Chuck mumbled.
Serah picked up. "What's up, Dean?"
"You, Chuck, Gabe, Cas. Get your feathery asses to us now, no questions." Then he simply hung up.
Serah watched her phone, then got up. "Looks like they have issues. Millie, you should stay here with Mary and Clark. We have to go."
"Where?" Gabriel asked.
"Gotta text. Get Cas." She typed her question while the archangel left and came back. "Dean says they're in Reno."
"Amara lives there at the moment," Chuck commented. With a blink of an eye, they found themselves in Nevada, the Impala by their side and no traces of the Winchesters. Serah looked into the car and around the street.
"Look," Serah said. "I'm worried."
"Uhm, Serah?" Gabriel pointed to the street, a trail of blood leading away. "I think I know where they might be."
