"Dean, calm down."
"I can't." The hunter bit his lip and grasped the steering wheel of his car tighter.
Cas smiled and leaned over to press a soft kiss on Dean's cheek. "Just calm down."
Dean nodded. "You think she's awake yet?"
"We were supposed to wake her up."
Dean nodded again. "Right, right." He slowly opened the door and got out. Cas followed and took Dean's hand. The two walked to the door and got inside. The social worker - Juliet - greeted them with a big smile. "On time as always."
"We wouldn't wanna miss a second," Dean chuckled.
"Perfect. She's in her room. You know the way by now."
"Thanks, Juliet," Cas smiled and walked down the corridor. He opened the wooden door, the darkened room filling with the tiniest bit of light. At the end of the room, the girl was fast asleep, a large duck plushie Dean and Cas gifted her in her arms.
The couple walked to the bed, Dean knelt down. His hand ran through her brown curls. "Good morning, pumpkin."
Theodora moved, her eyes opening slightly. She blinked, then sat up.
"Good morning," Castiel smiled and knelt down too. "We missed you."
The girl got out of the bed, then ran across the room, only to come back with a piece of paper, a crayon drawing. Proudly, she showed it off.
Tears formed in Dean's eyes. The drawing showed Theodora, labelled 'Tedy', and two men. One wearing a brown jacket and the other wearing a blue tie, labelled 'Dada' and 'Papa'.
Theodora stepped closer and pushed it against Dean's hand. He took the drawing. "I'm gonna put it on the fridge where uncle Sammy, and Uncle Gabe and Aunt Jess and everyone can see it."
Tedy nodded proudly and cuddled to Cas' lap. Cas smiled and took her into her arms. The men got up, the girl leaned her head against the angel's chest. He smiled. "You should get some breakfast. Breakfast is the most important meal of the day."
Tedy nodded. The three walked out of the room, to the kitchen. Juliet was drinking some coffee, a couple of other kids having their breakfast.
"So," Dean smiled, putting the cereal cartons in front of her. "Which one is your favourite?"
Tedy reached out, grabbing the carton of honey flavoured cereal.
"Good choice," Dean smiled, putting them in a bowl and adding milk to it. Cas let down the girl and helped her onto the chair. "Enjoy."
Theodora started eating.
"I see she gave you the drawing," Juliet smiled.
Dean nodded. "I really love it. I'll show it off to everyone at home."
"That's nice," Juliet said as she finished her coffee. "Theodora, do you wanna be with them?"
Tedy nodded. Then, she kept eating her cereal.
"Do you wanna go out with them today?" Juliet asked. Again, a nod.
Dean smiled and knelt beside the table. "How about we go to the park?" Theodora smiled widely and nodded.
"Perfect," Dean smiled. "Finish your breakfast and dress up and we can go."
Soon, the bowl was empty. She put it in the sink and ran into her room. Dean couldn't but chuckle. He got up and turned to the angel. "I'll let you take the lead today. I know I always charge ahead, you should spend more time with her."
Castiel smiled. "Don't worry," he said. "It's nice to see you happy like this."
"It'd make me happy to see you happy." Dean pressed a soft kiss on Cas' lips. "Let's check on her, I feel like braiding hair today." They walked to the room. Dean knocked. "Sweetie, are you ready?" The door opened, Theodora watched them with big green eyes. She tilted smiled and took Dean's hand.
Slowly, Dean walked. The three walked out of the house, then down the road until they arrived at a park with a playground. Cas and Dean had brought her there once before. Theodora loved the swing, so she ran to it immediately. Cas followed smiling. He pushed the girl on the swing, loud giggling coming from Theodora.
Dean sat down in front of the swing, far enough so he wouldn't get hit. He pulled out his phone. "Smile," he grinned as he pointed the device's camera at the two.
