Sam knocked on the door that immediately opened.
"Oh boy," Chuck sighed and tried to close the door.
"We're not mad, just talking." Sam held open the door. "I'm just trying to solve things between you."
Much to Sam's surprise, Chuck opened the door. He was even fully dressed, as to Sam's surprise. He seemed sober, too.
"What do you want?" Chuck asked.
"Becky here was wondering why you started to reach out to her again after all these years." Sam tried to sound reasonable as to why he'd even care. "And she was wondering how things are between the two."
Chuck watched them. "Why would you care, Sam?"
"Probably because you're about to be my father-in-law and I'm trying to be a good- You knew we'd come here, didn't you?"
"Obviously, I did." He stepped aside and opened the door. "I prepared some coffee."
"Do I really have to stay?" Sam asked. "You knew we'd come so I bet you know why too. You two have fun, alright? Tell me how it went, bye."
"Thank you, Sam." Becky hugged him. "You're the best!"
"Yeah, I get that at times." He smiled. "Don't do anything stupid." He gave her a gentle squeeze and walked back to his car.
Soon, he was back at home. Cas and Jess must have already left, Gabe probably was in their room, but Adam and Samandriel were sitting at the table watching an iPad.
Sam got closer. "Hey guys," he said. "What are you doing?"
"Dean gave this to us," Adam explained. "These are so advanced nowadays."
"Yeah," Sam smiled. "How are you feeling?"
"I'm okay." Adam scratched his nose. "I don't sleep much so I'm a little tired, but I'm okay mostly."
Sam smiled softly. "That's good. Don't exhaust yourself." He patted his shoulder. "I know that you're still getting used to-"
A loud scream echoed through the bunker. For a moment, Sam simply watched in the direction of the sound, then sprinted down the hallway. He opened their bedroom door.
"Sam!" Gabriel cried.
"Hey, hey." He walked in and knelt beside the bed. Gabe was still wearing Sam's shirt, yet stripped down her underwear, only covered by the blanket. "I thought we would have at least a month more."
Gabe closed her eyes. "Do I look like I'm faking?"
"Of course not, honey." He brushed over her hand. "Should I call someone?"
"Yes!"
Sam got up and walked through the hallways. "Dean?" he yelled. "Dean!"
Dean got out of his room. "What the hell is going on?"
"The baby is coming and Gabe is gonna rip my head off, I feel like."
Dean closed his eyes and sighed. A second later, Cas appeared. Cas watched the brothers. "What kind of emergency?"
The three walked back to Gabe. She hugged a pillow with her eyes closed. Sam knelt beside the bed and took her hand. "We're back."
"I knew it was gonna hurt," Gabe mumbled. "But not like this. This isn't what I remember."
Sam tried to calm her down. Seeing her in pain made his heart feel heavy. "I'm here," Sam whispered and kissed her hand.
"How often did you have contractions?" Castiel asked.
"A few times but that last one was the worst." She watched Sam. "You did this to me."
"Let's stay calm, okay?" Sam kissed her hand. "We'll be so happy when our little baby is here."
This went on for hours, taking small walking breaks between contractions. Sam felt like a lightning rod to Gabe's stress. His hand felt like every bone would have been shattered if he let her squeeze his hand all the time.
Slowly, the contractions got more regularly, the birth got closer and closer. Sam was truly excited, Gabe wasn't. She grabbed Sam's wrist when the room lit up with a golden light. It dimmed down, and Cas was holding a small baby.
"Cas?" Gabe asked.
"Yes?"
"Isn't the pain supposed to stop?"
Sam watched her. "What do you mean?"
"I mean that I am still in pain, you idiot!"
Cas looker under the blanket. "Dean, take the baby." He handed over the child. "Looks like it's twins."
"Twins?!" Gabe dropped her head in the pillow.
Sam tried to stay calm. He wasn't prepared at all for twins. Honestly, he wasn't prepared for one baby.
Dean looked slightly overwhelmed with the newborn. "She's cute."
Gabe watched him. "She?" she asked. "A girl?" Tears streamed down Gabe's cheeks. "Sammy, we have a baby girl."
Sam smiled wide and kissed her hand. "A beautiful little girl."
Another bright light lit up the room and Cas was left with another baby in his arms. Finally, Gabriel relaxed.
"Here, Sam." Castiel put the baby in Sam's arms. He felt like his entire body tensed up. It was as if he was gonna hurt the baby with one wrong move. Tears welled up in Sam's eyes. "A baby boy." He knelt beside the bed.
Gabe cupped one side of Sam's face. "You're too cute." She smiled. "Thank you, Sammy."
Sam leaned over and kissed her gently. "Now the last thing is names."
"Well, I think," Dean announced. "You're holding little Dean there."
"Well, I think," Sam mocked. "You're a jerk." He watched the little boy. "If you don't shut up, I'll name him Michael."
Gabe moved in her bed. "Don't joke about that," she said. "You know damn well I love my brothers."
Sam brushed over her arm. "Trust me, I do." He smiled softly. "Do you want to name our little ones after them?"
Gabriel blushed and looked down. "I think we both should decide together."
"Well, I'd love to cuddle a little Raphael. And since there're four archangels, that makes two double-named babies."
Gabriel smiled widely and kissed Sam. "Thank you," she mumbled.
