Sam walked into the kitchen. John and Mary sat at the table. Even though the two lived in the bunker, he barely saw them. "Good morning," he said.
"Good morning," Mary smiled. "How'd you sleep?"
"Safe and sound in my husband's arms." He sat down.
"No domestics yet?" John asked.
"A small one yesterday. Nothing of concern."
"That's good." John drank his coffee. "How are the twins?"
"Gabe is a lot better with them, and I think they like him better too."
"That's not true," Mary said. "I've seen how your little princess looks at you and to her, you are the strongest hero ever."
Sam smiled. "She likes my hair."
"Rightfully so." Mary got up and kissed his head. "I'll make us some breakfast, yeah?" She walked to the stove. "Bacon pancakes?"
"You know me too well."
The creaking of a door caught Sam's attention. Serah and Eliot entered the kitchen. Sam chuckled. "Good morning."
Silently, Serah got on Sam's lap and leaned against his chest. "Daddy I need hugs."
Sam wrapped his arms around her and braided her hair into a ponytail. "Don't you wanna go back to sleep?"
"No."
John smiled. "That's really cute."
"I'm adorable." Serah yawned. "And tired."
"You're my little princess." Sam pressed a kiss on her temple and brushed her back. "Uhm, dad... What are you gonna do with your second chance at life? I mean, you still got lots of time."
John smiled. "I was thinking about going back to hunting, but with my wife, and my kids, and my grandchildren... Why would I do this?"
"Don't know." Sam shrugged. "Millie is coming over and we'll be downstairs in the Batcave and have some sibling time."
Serah watched him. "The Batcave?"
"Dean has fun, leave him be."
"I will, Dad."
"Sammy!"
Sam smiled. "I gotta go, sunshine. Love you." He picked her up, got up and set her down. He walked downstairs. Dean, Adam and Millie sat on the couch, food and drinks on the table and Mario Party on the TV.
"This is the day I'll be declaring war," Dean said and handed him a controller.
"So Dean is gonna cry at the end, got it." Sam got on the couch and smiled.
"How's married life?" Millie asked.
"Lovely," he replied.
For about five minutes, the conversation was calm and civilized. Then the situation escalated.
"I pressed the damn button!" Dean yelled. "I call bulls-"
"Of course you did," Sam laughed.
"Shut it," Dean growled.
That's how their day went. Yelling, laughing, insults. Millie had to move between them to keep Sam and Dean from fighting and cheating. Adam sat on the floor, enjoying his peace.
"Hey Dean," Adam said. "Ever considered that you suck at gaming?"
"Ever considered that you're a dumbass?" Dean mumbled.
Millie gasped. "Don't insult the baby!"
Sam laughed. "Yes Dean, don't insult the baby."
"This is why you don't have friends," Adam said.
"All of our friends are dead, moving on." Dean picked up the controller he threw on the ground. "Let's finish this round."
Sam leaned on the armrest of the couch. "How are things with you and Cas?"
"Cas and I are doing fine," Dean replied.
"You should propose to him."
Dean watched away from the TV. "Excuse me?"
"Put a ring on it," Sam said. "You worked through ten years of denial, I think you two won't break up."
"We won't," Dean said. "But I don't know if I will any time soon. I mean, that's a lot of work."
"I would know," Sam laughed. "But it's worth it."
Millie sighed. "It is a lot of work." She leaned on Dean's shoulder. "I was married and it was a hassle to get rid of them."
"He didn't deserve you," Dean said.
"Now I have you three and I love you."
"Aww," Sam smiled. "I love you too except for Dean who's acting like a bitch."
"I'm gonna show you bitch."
"Both of you stop," Millie said.
Adam laughed. "Both of you suck."
Millie sighed. "I give up." She spread across her brothers' laps and stretched her back. "Time to destroy you suckers."
The more they played, the louder they got. Empty bottles and pizza cartons collected on the floor. But at last, they had a good time.
