Serah pulled on her dress.
"You look amazing," Dean said. He drove her to Eliot's place. "So amazing that I don't wanna let you go in there."
"I love you, Dean." She leaned over and kissed his cheek. "Thank you."
"Have fun, kid." He opened the door for her. "Sam will pick you up at 11, not a minute later."
"That's way enough time to do dirty things." Serah laughed. "Which we are totally going to do, with his parents and siblings in the next room."
"Just go."
Serah laughed and left the car. She walked up to the door and rang the bell. A moment later the door opened. A tall, slender woman opened the door. She must have been Eliot's mother.
"You must be Serah." A warm smile grew on her lips. "Come in, darling."
"Thank you, Mrs. Shea."
Eliot's mother stepped aside and Serah walked into their house. Mrs. Shea smiled. "Eliot's been waiting for you all day. He's in the dining room." She walked around Serah and led the way. "Honey, she's here." She pulled away a curtain revealing an archway. Eliot looked out of there.
"Hi," he smiled. "I like your dress."
Serah blushed. "Thank you. I bought it a few days ago." She walked up to him.
"You two can already sit down, dinner is ready in a moment." Mrs. Shea pressed a small kiss on Eliot's temple and disappeared into another room, presumably the kitchen.
Eliot smiled and went back into the dining room. "Dad, this is Serah." He gently pulled get in the room and closed the curtain again.
Serah smiled as the large man got up from his chair. He was about as tall as Samandriel but a little stout. "Hi there." He pulled her in a tight hug.
"Dad, personal space," Eliot laughed.
"It's alright," Serah said. "It's nice to meet you too."
Mr. Shea let her go and smiled. "I have to say, your dress looks amazing."
"Thank you, sir." She watched Eliot. "Your parents are so nice."
"They are," Eliot smiled and pulled back a chair. "The best seat saved for you."
Serah walked around the table and sat down. Eliot kissed the top of her head and sat beside her. "I hope you didn't get lost on the way."
"Dean drove me and my dad will pick me up at 11."
"Your dad?" Eliot asked. "The scary one or the really scary one?"
"The cuddly one or the really cuddly one?" Serah laughed. "The really cuddly one. Sam said he would be downtown anyway."
"Oh, that's good then."
The curtain opened and Mrs. Shea carried a large pot into the room. "Caution, hot!" She set the pot down on the table. "I made Eliot's favourite dish."
"I'll remember that," Serah smiled.
Eliot's mother served everyone some food and sat down. "Eliot's siblings are out of the house today."
"I didn't even know he has siblings."
Eliot started eating. "My brother is thirteen and my sister is nine."
"Aww, I'd love to meet them."
Mr. Shea laughed. "They're a handful. Do you have siblings, dear?"
"Yes, twin siblings. They're only six weeks old," Serah said.
"That's so cute," Mrs. Shea said. "Did your mom get through it well?"
"Honey, they are gay." Mr. Shea itched his nose. "Two guys."
"Oh, that's lovely," the mom said. "Did they adopt the twins or did they have a surrogate?"
"Uhm, a surrogate," Serah swiftly said. "She's my older dad's cousin or something."
"Sweet." She smiled brightly. "And are they doing fine with the twins?"
"Yeah. There was a little of a baby rush. My uncles adopted a lovely girl and I, uhm... helped out my cousin and his boyfriend with having a baby on their own, and now I have two baby siblings so everything is good."
"That's good." Mrs. Shea smiled.
"She's Jack's cousin," Eliot explained.
"Oh, that's right," Mr. Shea exclaimed. "You told us that."
"I did."
For a moment, silence spread as everyone ate.
"So, how do you like the food, dear?" Mrs. Shea asked.
"It's awesome." Serah smiled. "And I have high standards."
Mrs. Shea laughed. "Happy to hear that."
