"Woah, Dean, calm down." Sam walked up and down in the library. "What did she say?"
"She doesn't talk, Sam, I told you." Dean sighed. "She tried to run into the woods and started crying."
Sam ran a hand through his hair. "Dean, she's four. Children cry."
"Well, I'm pretty sure she's seen things and one of these things is in that forest."
"Then Cas should check it out," Sam sighed.
On the other end of the line, a little girl's crying could be heard. "Sam, please."
"I can't." Sam sat down on the table. "I promised Gabe I wouldn't hunt."
"One more time," Dean begged. "Please."
Sam let out a deep sigh. "I'll be there in a second, okay?"
"I owe you one."
"You owe me so many already, save it." Sam closed the call and made his way to prepare a car, eventually drove to the park Dean had told him about. From far, he saw the two men with the little girl. Dean spotted his younger brother, said something to Cas and walked to Sam. The hunters opened the trunk.
"So, that's her?" Sam asked.
"Yes." Dean grabbed one of the guns. "Maybe you two get to talk a little."
Sam smiled. "We should sort this out first. And then you can tell your little girl that Daddy is a hero." He closed the trunk and walked up to the forest nearby. The air felt moist and thick, the ground felt as if it wasn't going to let their feet drag along any further. Sam watched around, noticing a small, broken down hut after wandering far into the woods. "Dean," he mumbled, pointing his gun at the building.
The older Winchester nodded, heading forward. He watched the locked door, then broke down the brittle door. Immediately, regret filled the brothers. On the floor, there were two bodies - decaying bodies. Sam watched his brother. "When was the last time you've seen anything like this?"
Dean squirmed. "1987."
"Pizzeria?"
"Pizzeria." Carefully, the older brother stepped closer, watching the guns and empty salt containers. "Hunters," he mumbled. "They couldn't kill it with guns. Salt didn't stop it. Not a spirit, not a demon..."
Sam sighed and pointed to their barely recognizable face. It was hard to make out, but their eyes were entirely burned out. "Angels."
Dean watched them. "Why would angels be after them?"
"Ask your boyfriend."
Dean blushed. "Maybe I shouldn't, really? I mean, does it matter?"
"So, salt and burn?"
The brothers stayed silent when the flames did their work. They left the hut when the heat went down, making their way out of the woods.
Theodora saw the brothers, jumped out of Cas' arms and ran towards the shorter Winchester.
Dean knelt down and picked up the crying girl. "Hey Sweetie," he smiled as he pressed a soft kiss on her forehead. "Look, here's your uncle Sammy."
Sam smiled. "Hi."
Tedy watched him, then leaned her head against Dean's chest. They walked back to the angel, Dean put a hand on Cas' shoulder. "We took care of it."
Castiel nodded. "I think Theodora is a bit tired," he said. "Maybe it's time to go."
Dean smiled. "Want Uncle Sammy to come with  us?" Tedy nodded, Dean watched his brother. "Can't argue with her."
The group walked back down the road, Dean pushed open the door. Sam watched around, spotting children running around. Then, the social worker who had visited them approached.
"Oh hi," she smiled. "Did you enjoy your walk?" Tedy nodded. The social worker smiled. "That's nice."
Dean pressed a kiss on the girl's hair. "She's all tuckered out, right?" He watched the girl. "We have to go now. But we will be back tomorrow, okay?" Tedy leaned more against his chest, then watched Sam and reached out to him.
Sam smiled and hugged her. "It was nice to meet you, little lady." He knelt down and put her down. Her big green eyes filled with tears as she hugged Dean's leg tightly, fingers digging into the denim of his jeans.
"Stay," she whispered, her voice thin and brittle as if a slight breeze could break it.
Dean closed his eyes. He couldn't watch. The man took a deep breath. "I promise we'll be back."
Theodora watched up. The teardrops rolled down her flushed cheeks, then let go of Dean's leg and ran away crying. Dean tried to follow, being held back by his lover's grasp. "Cas let me go," he growled. "She's crying because of me."
Cas shook his head, pulled Dean into a tight hug. "We'll get enough time to apologize."
