A smile grew on Serah's face when Eliot dropped off the bus. "Hi," she smiled, giving him a warm hug.
"Hey," he replied. "I was a bit surprised when you called but I'm happy to see you."
"I'm happy too." Serah bit her lip. "Well, actually I'm not, which is why I called in the first place."
"Sounds like someone needs a shoulder to cry on. I'm here."
The two walked down the street as the sun settled over Lebanon. The sky had left his blue colour behind to show its warm, orange view.
"I feel like I really screwed up lately. Everyone I know is either family or hates my guts." Serah looked at the clouds that showed off a pink tint. "Except for you, I suppose, but you don't know me that well which is why you don't hate me yet."
Eliot scratched his head. "I don't know why I should, though."
"That's the point," Serah chuckled. "I'll tell you why." They walked to a place to sit down and did exactly that. They sat down and watched the sunset.
"So," Serah mumbled. "I screwed up. I accidentally slept with Jack's boyfriend and if that wasn't bad enough, now I'm pregnant."
Eliot nodded. "Screwed up, indeed."
"Yeah. And when I told my boyfriend, well... Ex-boyfriend, he pushed me and I got scared and smacked him into the nearest wall."
"Well, he pushed you, so that wasn't cool."
Chuckling, Serah shook her head. "No need to defend me. I thought we were even but he called me a psycho bitch and left."
"Oh." Eliot watched down. "That sucks."
Serah sighed. "I don't even know if a long-distance relationship was a good idea in the first place. Next time, I'll stick with someone from here." She pulled her knees close to her chest and wrapped her arms around them.
"Well," Elliot mumbled. "I'm free and from Lebanon."
Sera watched him. "I- uhm... Eliot, I just got through a breakup, I'm pregnant from another guy... I don't think a relationship is what I need now at all..." She leaned her forehead on her knees. "I'm so sorry."
"It's alright," Eliot ensured. "I wasn't that serious in the first place. Trust me, I understand."
Serah sighed. "You're so sweet, I almost want to date you but I just can't right now."
His hand ran up and down her back. "I can wait."
She turned her head and watched him, a tear resting in the corner of her eye. "Really?"
Eliot pulled her closer and hugged her. "If you need a friend, you've come to the right person. And if you need a date, you've still come to the right place."
"You're the best."
Eliot chuckled. "If you say that.
Their nice hugging moment was interrupted by Serah's phone. When she saw who called, she bit her lip. " Should have told my dad, I guess." She picked up her phone.
"It's past sunset, and you are nowhere to be found! Where the hell are you?"
"Dad, don't worry. I'm downtown."
"You don't understand the concept of parenting," Sam said.
"I'll be home in a second, dad. Love you." She hung up and got up. "Sorry, I gotta go."
Eliot lifted himself up and smiled. "I understand. If you wanna meet again, you know where to find me."
Serah hugged him tightly. "Thank you." She pressed a kiss on his cheek. "See you."
"Bye," Eliot smiled.
With a snap of her finger, Serah dropped in her dads' bed. Sam flinched and watched her. "What the hell, Serah."
"Hi, daddy." She put her head on his chest. "Where's dad?"
"Uhm, complicated." He put an arm around her. "He's looking for a vessel."
"Vessel?" She tilted her head.
Sam chuckled softly. "He insists on becoming pregnant which is really hard if you're a dude."
"A baby! A baby!" Serah jumped on her dad's chest and hugged him. "Yes!"
"Shh, it's okay, calm down." He smiled and hugged her.
Sam's phone rang, the contact name 'Gabe' popped up. "That's him then," Sam smiled and picked up on speaker. "Hey, love, you're speaker."
"Sam, come downstairs," a female voice commanded and hung up. Sam watched his phone, then his daughter and then they got up and went downstairs. A short, blonde woman stood over the lifeless body that was Gabriel's vessel. Serah recognized the glowing grace and the blue-ish golden wings.
The woman sighed. "I still need that one." She picked up the body by his shoulders.
Sam pulled up an eyebrow. "Gabriel?"
The archangel looked up. "Yeah?"
"Just making sure." Sam picked up the vessel's feet. "We're taking him to the morgue?"
"We have that..? Geez, I love this place." The two left Serah alone. She waited until the two came back.
Sam watched the woman and blushed. "So, uhm... Are you a she now?"
"I don't have a gender. I'm a celestial being beyond the gender binary. But since the others seem to go by their vessel, I guess so. It's still Gabe, though."
Serah watched her. "So, you're a mom again?"
"Bingo."
Serah smiled. "Good that we talked about it. Now you two get in the bedroom and give me a sibling- no, a sister. I want a sister."
Sam laughed. "We will try." He pressed a kiss on her forehead and her parents left the room.
