"I can't, Dean." Sam walked up and down, feet dragging across the carpet, hand tugging at the collar of his white shirt. It was as if he was going to suffocate, as if his shirt was going to wrap tighter and tighter around his neck.
"Don't say that," Dean said. He took the black bowtie and tied it around his neck. "You'll thank me later."
"Dean, you don't understand." Sam ran his hand across his freshly shaven face. "I'm gonna- I'm gonna go out there, and I'll... Dean, I'm gonna screw up and embarrass myself."
"Sammy, calm down, take a deep breath. It'll be fine, I promise that-"
The knocking at the door interrupted Dean's pep talk. The door opened, Mary looked inside.
"Hi boys," she smiled. "You two are looking amazing."
"Thanks, Mom," Sam mumbled. "Did anything happen?"
"Not really," Mary said. "But you have a special guest."
"Special guest?" Sam asked. "Like, uninvited, or what do you mean?"
The door opened fully, and Sam's heart dropped, just like his jaw. "Dad?"
John stepped into the room. "Hello, Sam."
Sam chewed on his lip, he tugged on his sleeves. "How did you know?"
"Your daughter and mother came to me, and they told me." John lowered his sight and watch the floor. "I think there's a lot to talk about, but I don't wanna ruin your mood on your wedding day."
Sam watched him, then he walked closer and hugged him tightly. "Thank you, Dad."
John patted his back. "I'd love to meet your Soon-To-Be husband, and your child Serah told me about."
"Children," Sam corrected. "They're twins." A smile grew on his face. "A boy and a girl."
"That's amazing." John smiled. "Can't wait to meet them."
Sam took a step back. "I'm having a slight mental breakdown, but I'm working through this."
"You're going to cry enough later on." John patted his shoulder.
Sam took a deep breath and nodded. "I can do this."
"Exactly, Sammy," Dean agreed. "You're gonna rock this."
Sam looked out of the window. The park they had booked looked gorgeous with the wedding arch and the decorations. Gabriel had picked them out. Neither of them knew what they should do so Sam let take him the lead.
Sam counted the people sitting on the benches. He looked if all of his friends had come, the extended family, so to speak.
He saw Cas come out of the house, probably having talked to Gabriel.
He saw Serah, swaying one of the twins in her arms next to Eliot.
He saw Chuck and Becky, sharing a few words with a bright smile of their lips.
Chuck was the one officiating the wedding. Who could speak in the name of the Lord, other than Him Himself?
"Are you ready?" Dean asked.
"Absolutely not." Sam pushed himself away from the window. "I've never been to a gay wedding. I've never been to any wedding other than that one time with Becky we don't talk about."
Dean stepped in front of him and grabbed his shoulders softly. "It'll be okay. I promise. Let's go downstairs, and the rest will just work on its own."
Sam nodded, shared a nervous look with his parents and walked downstairs. All eyes were on him, his heart beat faster as he walked down the aisle to the arch. Chuck greeted him with a bright smile.
"Nervous?"
"Very." Sam laughed softly. "Dean should be here soon, hopefully, please."
"He's back there." Chuck nodded to the house. Dean and Cas shared a few words, a hug and a kiss. Then, Dean came to him.
"Sorry, I'm all yours now." Dean smiled. "Cas told me Gabe is extremely excited but he needs a moment to calm down."
"Understandable."
Cas walked back into the house, probably looking after Gabriel.
Sam shook his head. "What if he doesn't want to marry me anymore?"
"Don't think about that." Dean put his hand on his shoulder. "Gabe loves you. You know how I know?"
"How?"
Dean smiled. "Because he's coming right there."
Sam watched the door. Gabriel was wearing a beautiful suit. Their eyes met, and Sam's throat felt tight again. Gabe walked down the aisle, Castiel behind him. Sam couldn't take his eyes off of the archangel.
"Hey," Gabriel smiled softly.
"Hey." Sam could barely pull himself together. There was lots of time to break into tears once they had some private time. Not that he could keep all the tears in. His vision got blurry, only Gabriel standing out.
"Do you, Gabriel, take this man, Sam Winchester, to be your husband, to have and to hold from this day forward, for better or for worse, for richer, for poorer, in sickness and in health, to love and to cherish; from this day forward until death do you part?"
Nobody couldn't hold back a soft laugh. "Not that Death could tell us anything," Gabe mumbled smiling. "I do."
"Do you, Sam Winchester, take this man, Gabriel, to be your husband, to have and to hold from this day forward, for better or for worse, for richer, for poorer, in sickness and in health, to love and to cherish; from this day forward until death do you part?"
"I do."
They exchanged the rings. Sam's hands had been shakier than they had ever been. Gabriel noticed, it would have been hard to overlook. When it was Gabriel's turn, he traced small circles on Sam's hand with his thumb.
"I now pronounce you spouses for life," Chuck announced. "You may now kiss."
Sam cupped Gabriel's face and pressed a soft kiss on his lips. Their guests applauded, their eyes with tears of joy. They took the tiniest step apart and reach for the other's hand. Sam shared a quick but happy look with Dean, another one with Cas, and then they walked down the aisle together. Sam couldn't but smile. They would stay here for the party, and people started moving around. Immediately, Jody and Donna approached them.
"Sam Winchester," Jody said. "I barely hear from you for years and the next thing we hear is that you're getting married? Come here." She pulled him into a tight hug.
"Now, who is this handsome fella?" Donna asked.
"I'm Gabriel, nice to meet you." He smiled brightly.
"How did you two meet?"
Sam and Gabe shared an awkward look. "Well, the first first time was a hook-up and the second first time a hunt."
"Oh," Jody said. "You were like, the victim?"
"Oh no, I was the monster." Gabriel shrugged. "He still loves me, though."
"Gabriel and I had a rocky start," Sam said. "But now we are happily married with three kids."
"Three kids?" Jody asked. "How did we not know that?"
"You should meet them. They are back there." Sam smiled and walked up to Serah and Eliot. "Hello, Princess. We have some of our friends for you to meet."
Serah got up and smiled. "Hi," she said. "My name's Serah. I'd offer you my hand but I'm scared to drop her."
Donna and Jody smiled. "You're Sam's daughter?" Jody asked. "You look pretty grown-up."
"I'm 18," Serah smiled. "But the twins are only a month old."
Sam laughed softly. "Yeah, we had twins, recently, and our little princess is taking care of them from time to time."
"Aww." Donna moved closer. "Isn't she a little bundle of sunshine? What's her name?"
"Brie," Gabe smiled. "Brie and Raph."
"Other question," Sam asked. "Where are Claire and Alex?"
"I've seen them with Cas and Dean." Jody looked over to them. "Say, the two are really close."
"Oh yeah," Sam said. "Dean got over his issues and finally asked Cas out. They adopted a kid."
"The two of you are unbelievable," Jody sighed. "We don't know anything anymore."
"You know now," Sam laughed. "Let's go to them and see." The group walked across and joined the others.
"Hey there," Dean smiled. "Come here." Dean pulled Sam into a hug.
"Congrats." Claire hugged Sam too. "We already heard some amazing stories about your history together so that was fun.
Dean laughed. "Couldn't resist. Anyway, Jody, Donna." Dean knelt down and picked up Tedy who tightly hugged Dean's hand before. "May I introduce you to Theodora? Tedy, that's Jody and Donna. They're our friends."
"Hi," Jody smiled.
"Hello," Tedy mumbled.
Dean pressed a kiss on her cheek. "We told you something, didn't we?"
Tedy nodded. She got on the floor and went to Sam and Gabe. "Congratulations, I love you so much."
Sam smiled and picked her up. "Thank you, sunshine."
Gabe leaned against Sam's shoulder. "We love you too." He pressed a kiss on her forehead. Tedy giggled. "Did I do it right?"
"Yes," Cas said. "Dean and I prepared lunch and the cake."
"You're best men, you should." Sam smiled. "Are you hungry, kiddo?"
"Yes!" Tedy smiled brightly. "Papa said I shouldn't eat breakfast because I will eat lots now!"
"Well, then we should go fast." Sam kissed her head and together with his newlywed husband, they walked inside.
