How to Deal

Lisa POV

'Joy, its Lisa. About Chaeyoung... she's back isn't she.' I ask.

'Lisa... yea she is. For slightly over a week.' She replies.

'Darn it! Do you know why? What does she want?' my frustration and confusion return at full blast. I try to keep it down cos I don't want to wake Jennie. But its hard to hide my emotions whenever Chaeyoung's involved.

'Well... seems like she's back for good. I think you 2 need to talk things out. You 2 need closure...'

'If we meet it has to be on my terms Joy. I don't know if I'm ready to meet her again. So much has changed. And Jennie.. there's Jennie. Come on Joy, tell me why she's back. Don't just tell me we need closure. You have to give me more than that.' I know its not fair to do this to Joy but right now she's my source of information. Right now she's the closest person to Chaeyoung. Right now she's the only verbal punching bag I have.

'Lis, you're obviously one of the reasons she's back. Chaeng feels horrible and she's hoping to resolve things with you... sigh. I don't know how you know she's back but since you know, you've gotta deal with it cos she's not going anywhere anytime soon. She's looking for an apartment Lis... and please don't put me between you 2 cos I don't want to get caught up in this again and I don't want to choose sides.'

'I saw her at a bus stop this morning... and Joy, you've already chosen her side in this.. let me just get used to the idea of her being back ok? I'll contact you again when I'm ready to meet her, till then please do me a favour and keep her from looking for me. Please.' I plead.

'Alright.. anyway it is good to hear your voice again Lisa... I know we haven't talked since... but yea... hope you figure this out soon. It's not good to drag this out or to avoid ok. I suppose I'll hear from you again.'

I hung up and headed to the balcony for a cigarette. As I look up towards the night sky, I make my decision. Its past midnight and a Friday now, so I'll bring Jennie on a trip this weekend. Just the 2 of us. We'll just relax and spend quality time together. I want to leave everything behind and just spend 2 days with her.

Screw the past, screw this situation. I'll tell Jennie that Chaeyoung's back at the end of the trip. I want to respect her and our relationship. I'm not going to go behind her back and see Chaeyoung. I want Jennie to know that I'm not hiding anything from her; that I am serious about us. I'll arrange to meet Chaeyoung after I get back this weekend.
