my feet sink further and further into the dirt,
i am buried to my knees,
i lay back and stare at the sky.
a storm of dirt clouds have formed
above me now.
rubble falls down, all from the mess i have created.
seemingly the rocks only fall around me
but never hitting,
the person i am laying here with points out the most gorgeous sunset I've ever seen peaking
through the clouds.
hues of beautiful pinks and orange blending,
with a small line of blue trickling across.
but i do not deserve this.
the sight of that beautiful sunset should not
be seen by my damaged eyes.
but nether the less,
i will lay here, quietly as i sink,
with the person fabricated by my mind,
laying at side.
and enjoy that breathtaking sunset
through the rubble.
