"I'm bored!" Athena complained loudly as she stared up at the ceiling. Natasha chuckled from the bed next to her.

"Call up one of your little school friends." The red head suggested "how about that Peter boy?"

"Peters..." Athena trailed off before looking down at her phone and seeing a message from Peter himself. "Texting me."

"Of course he is." Nat smirked before getting off of the bed and walking out of the blondes room.

Hey, I'm bored

Athena chuckled, realising she said those words less than a couple of minutes ago.

Thea
Me too, wanna hang out?

Peter Parker
Sure, meet me at the deli at 2?

Thea
See you then.

Athena smiled widely before dropping her phone at her side and looking up at the ceiling.

She was unsure as to why Peter Parker, a small town shy boy who stuttered too much for his own good, was making her smile wider than she ever had before.

She felt butterflies emerge in her stomach before she pulled herself up from the bed and walked over to her closet.

New York was always cold to Athena, so she grabbed some high waisted black jeans, a plain black shirt and a grey plaid coat.

Quickly putting the outfit on, the girl curled her hair and finished her makeup. Athena walked down the stairs, where she saw Wanda and Nat talking.

"So, you decided to leave the house after all?" Nat smirked as she turned her head away from Wanda and towards the blonde. "Mr Peter, perhaps?"

"We're just going for a walk" Athena smiled, looking down at the floor so neither Nat or Wanda could see.

"You lied, you do like him!" Natasha exclaimed, rushing over to the girl, Wanda following loosely.

"No, I don't!" Thea defended herself with an embarrassed smile. "He's just... my good friend."

"Oh, I'm sure." Nat smirked before piercing her lips together. "Don't have too much fun."

"Whatever, Nat." Athena playfully rolled her eyes as Wanda chuckled from behind. "I'll see you both later, who's making dinner?"

"Steve." Nat said causing Athena to sigh.

"Great."

"Come on!" Peter exclaimed "Iron Man is way cooler than Captain America!"

"No way!" Athena defended "Steve is literally a 40's hero, he sacrificed himself to save the entirety of New York!"

"Yeah, well Iron Man sacrificed himself to save the world." Peter shot back causing Athena to scoff.

"Fair enough" she raised her hands in defence "Okay, you win this one, Parker."

For about an hour, they had been talking non stop about everything in their lives. Athena really enjoyed it. Being able to talk to him without any breaks or any uncomfortable silenced made Athena realise that Peter wasn't as awkward as she once thought he was. He was actually extremely outgoing and passionate about what he loved.

"Of course I did, I'm stubborn" Peter smiled, leaning back onto his palms and looking out towards the lake they were sat at.

"Yeah, it's annoying" Thea joked, making Peter smile and look to her.

She turned to him too, making him look deep into her eyes and notice the purple flecks again.

"Thea... have you ever noticed the hint of purple in your eyes?" Peter questioned causing Athena's smile to fade lightly.

"Yeah..." she paused "Yeah, I have."

She always thought that the purple was a flaw and that it made her look worse or ugly, but she'd never told anyone about that insecurity.

"They're beautiful" Peter spoke, making the girl look back to him.

A small, yet genuine smile came onto her face as she looked at the brown haired boy beside her "thank you, peter."

"Anytime."

They sat in a comfortable silence for multiple seconds until Athena brought up her mission "have you seen this... spider-guy before?"

"You mean spider-man?" Peter emphasised, causing the girl to nod. "Yeah, a couple of times, why is that?"

"Do you know who he is?" She asked, turning to face him so she could see if his facial expression changed.

It did.

Peter started to stutter awkwardly, his cheeks heating up as if she'd just kissed him or something. "I-I have no idea, it—Yeah, no. I don't know who he is."

Athena raised an eyebrow and stared at the boy blankly. "Peter, this is a serious situation. If you know, you need to tell me."

"Why?"

"Huh?" Athena asked, monitoring the boy's facial expression.

"Why do you need to know?" He repeated causing Athena to bite her lip.

She hid her worry with a smirk and said "we all have our secrets, Parker."

"Then, I'll keep mine" he said confidently causing the girl to huff.

"You just made my life a whole lot harder, you know that?" She chuckled her aggression off causing Peter to furrow his eyebrows.

"I know" he smirked playfully causing Athena to look to him and smile.

Maybe, just maybe, she did like him.
