57 | badass female moment

Athena ran over to Peter and saw him huddled underneath a rock. "Give me the gauntlet, Peter."

Peter stood up from the ground and saw the state he was in. Bloodied nose, dark bags under his eyes — he did not look okay. Then again, neither did she with her scruffed up hair and bloody face.

"I don't know how you're gonna get through all that, Thea." He said as he handed her the gauntlet.

Athena turned around as Carol and Wanda landed beside her.

"Don't worry—" Carol said.

"She's got help." Wanda finished as all the other girls landed beside her.

Peter smiled at Athena causing her to nudge him lightly and turn around to face the army.

"Is this like a badass female moment?" Athena smiled as she turned to Pepper who just chuckled.

"Yes, it is." The older blonde nodded as she closed her iron helmet over her face.

Athena smirked before she started to run at the front with all her female friends beside her. She was just sad that Nat couldn't be there with them.. she was the one who deserved to be there the most.

She attacked the front, hitting away all that were in the way as she glides through with the gauntlet.

She ran over to Thanos and hit him head on with an energy blast, causing him to tumble back harshly.

She attempted to run into the tunnel but was sent back by an explosion when Thanos threw his blade into the van.

She dropped the gauntlet meters ahead of where she landed causing her to stand up in hurry. She watched as Tony, Steve and Thor tried to stop him and both failed as Thanos threw them off and grabbed the gauntlet.

Her eyes went wide as Carol came in, hitting Thanos multiple times before being thrown back.

Thanos put the glove on and started to click his fingers but Athena stepped in and kicked him over, grabbing the gauntlet on his hand and pulling it down. She groaned loudly as she used all her power to attempt to pull it off.

Thanos used his other hand to hit her but she lifted one hand off of the gauntlet and stopped his over hand from impacting her. She used it to push him backwards onto his knees and keep the gauntlet open.

"You said the power stone was my weakness, but let me tell you something, Thanos. What doesn't kill you..." she smirked as she pushed him down further "only makes you stronger."

Fear locked into his eyes for multiple seconds before grabbing the power stone out of the gauntlet and hitting Athena back with it.

She felt a large blast to her stomach as she was thrown back what felt like miles away. As she hit the ground harshly, she coughed and felt herself holding tightly onto her side. She felt blood run down her cheek as she touched it and saw that it was black. Nothing had changed, but she knew it wasn't a bad thing... it was just her evolving into becoming better... and the power stone did that.

It took her minutes to get up due to the pain in her stomach... but she wasn't dead. She ran over to where she was before and saw Tony click his fingers.. causing her eyes to go wide as a loud explosion occurred.

She held up a forcefield to block herself from it as everything started to fade away... all the bad guys.

She looked around and saw Thanos fade away into dust, just like they did last time whilst Tony stood shakily.

"Stark!" She yelled as she ran over and helped him sit down against a piece of flat metal.

"You're gonna be okay, Tony." She whispered to him as he looked up at her with a gleam in his eye.

"Take care, Thea." He whispered.

"Tony, please no." A small tear fell down her face.

"Look after Peter, okay?" He whispered underneath his breath causing her to nod sadly as Rhodey landed next to her, and put his hand on Tony's shoulder, smiling sadly.

Athena stepped back when Peter landed beside them. She knew how much tony meant to him... just like she knew how hard this would be hard on him.

"Mr Stark?" Peter said as he kneeled down beside Tony. "Hey... Mr Stark? Can you hear me? I-it's Peter."

Tears started to fall from Athena's eyes at the scene. Seeing tony... a father figure to her dying and Peter, her boyfriend, so upset.

"We won." Peter said breathlessly. "Mr Stark... We won, Mr Stark. We won, you did it, sir. You did it." Pepper walked up to Peter and grabbed his shoulders "I'm sorry... Tony?"

Athena walked up and looked at Pepper who nodded at her.

She pulled Peter back and wrapped an arm around his waist, allowing him to lean his head on her shoulder. He brought his hand up to his face as tears fell from his eyes. Athena instantly grabbed them and moved them from his face, wiping the tears that had fallen from his cheeks.

"It's okay," she whispered sadly as she grabbed his hand with her other one. Athena rubbed the back of Peters hands calmingly as Pepper walked up to her husband, kneeling beside him.

"Hey," she smiled sadly.

"Hey, Pep." He answered, looking into her eyes.

She placed her hand on his reactor as he placed his hand over hers. Athena let another tear drop as she knew Pepper was losing the love of her life... but for good.

"Friday?" She asked.

"Life functions critical."

"Tony," the woman smiled sadly. "Look at me. We're gonna be okay..." a tear slipped down her face as she said "you can rest now."

Athena watched as the man she grew up loving, hating, fighting and playing with died. He was her father figure, and now he's gone.

As his arc reactor turned off, Athena turned to Peter and placed her head on his shoulder whilst he placed his head on her head.

He was gone...

They both were.
