13 | the sokovia accords
Now that she had completed her mission, Athena was finally back to her old avengers life. Though she enjoyed making friends and having a real world experience, she was happy that she was finally back into the comfort of her home.
It had been two days, and a part of her really did miss being with her friends, especially Peter. It was hard for her to think that she would quite possibly never see him again.
When she heard someone walk through her door, Athena lifted her head up and saw Steve.
"Get up," He said, folding his arms over his chest "Secretary of State is here."
And with those words, Steve walked out of the room. "Of course he is," the girl mumbled to herself before getting off of the bed and following him out.

"Five years ago, I had a heart attack and dropped right in the middle of my backswing." Security Ross started, "turned out it was the best round of my life because after thirteen hours of surgery and a triple bypass, I found something forty years in the army never taught me."
They were all sat around the table, watching as the Secretary paced around in front of them. Athena kept catching Tony's glare, causing her to smirk. Him not wanting her there was the exact reason she wanted to be there.
Then he continued, slowly pacing up and down the room "the world owes the avengers an unpayable dept. You have fought for us, protected us, risked your lives, but while a great many people see you as heroes, there are some who prefer the word 'vigilantes'."
The first person to speak up was Natasha. "What word would you use, Mr Secretary?"
"How about dangerous?" He asked with a raised eyebrow. "What would you call a group of US-based, enhanced individuals who routinely ignore sovereign borders and inflict their will wherever they choose and who, frankly, seem unconcerned with what they leave behind?"
"Well, when you put it that way..." Athena spoke aloud, trailing off catching the others' attention. "You make it sound like we're the bad guys." She said sarcastically, smirking at him as she playfully said "that's insane."
Secretary Ross walked over to the table and placed his hands on the wood in front of her. "It's bad that they let an eight year old girl fight an alien army."
Athena rolled her eyes as Secretary Ross stepped out of the way of the large screen behind him, gesturing to the map that he was now showing on it. "New York."
Flashbacks of the attack with the chitauri played on the screen causing Athena to wince at the sight of Banner crashing down a building and demolishing it.
The screen went back to the map, then zoomed in on another familiar place.
"Washington D.C." He said, then more videos began playing. A large shield aircraft flying in the air, crashing into the lake whilst surrounding people screamed and ran away.
"Sokovia."
Ultron was the only thing that came to Athena's mind as she watched the videos play. This was the period of time when they met Wanda. The girl looked over to the witch and saw she looked away. She knew that was a hard day for the girl, it was the day she lost her brother.
