Waking up

Tobias pov.

We told Natalie about the baby. "Da baby Bo oh gir?" she asks. "Sweetie." I say in a soothing voice as I lay her down to bed. "Mommy doesn't know yet. We are going to a baby doctor to-" "nooo!!! no doctor. Doctor hurt mommy. No no." I forget the last time someone was ever in the hospital they were hurt. "Baby this doctor helps mommy with the baby. It'll be okay. You can stay with Chrissy tomorrow!" I say excited she claps her hands together and screams. I tickle her and lay her down in the bed. I go call the doctor and make sure they're open tomorrow. We need to get her to a doctor. I'm not sure how far along she is yet. We need to figure out soon.

I finish setting up and appointment for the doctor and walk in our room and see tris rubbing her stomach and speaking. She said "blood before faction." "tris? are you teaching our child morals before it has even come out of you yet?" I say sarcastically. Tris knows I believe that blood is more important than faction. It always has been. That's why her brother comes over every month with his wife and daughter. "No. I'm just talking to him or her. It's a pregnant thing." She says with a smirk. I laugh and cross the room to her.

Tris has changed. She's stronger than I thought she ever could be. She seems to prove me wrong every time.

I place my hand to her cheek and run my hand across it and think about the last time I ever did that.

We were in the chasm. It was the first time I kissed. I look at her face and she's smiling with her hand on her stomach. I lift her off the bed and kiss her gently. And then I walk out and text christina.

Christina: hello?

Tobias: hey Chris. I need a favor.

Christina: yeah what do you need?

Tobias: so I'm planning on taking tris Down to the chasm where I first kissed her as a surprise. Could you watch natalie a little longer than usual please?

Christina: omg that's so cute. Of course I relinquish

Tobias: relinquish?

Christina: damn this phone and it's spelling checker. I meant I will. Sorry this technology makes me want to throw it into a wall.

Tobias: I understand. Thankyou. Have a goodnight

Christina: you too.

I walk back in the room and see tris in her pajamas now walking from the bathroom wiping her mouth. She was brushing her teeth. Her hair has grown back out. It's long again. I love her hair short or long. Maybe she should find some middle ground like just under the shoulder maybe.

I walk over too her and swoop her into my arms and lay her down on the bed. She laughs. "You know I could have moved my self right?" she says. "I know. I just enjoy doing these things for my wife." I say with a smile. "We have a doctors appointment tomorrow by the way. I called. Christina's going to watch Nat for us. and then after I have a surprise." I smile again. She raises her eyebrow. "Tobias eaton what are you trying to do to me?" she says confused. i raise my hands in surrender "you caught me. I'm trying to talk you into marrying me." I laugh. She smiles "I already did you big dummy." And she playfully punches my arm. But it was hard. Pregnant women must get some strength when they get pregnant. I smile and kiss her and we lay down to go to sleep.

He starts to Dream......

I woke up in a strange room. I look around and try to get up. I'm tied to a simulation chair. I yell for help and then I hear a muffled sound. Tris. She's tied up in the floor in the corner. Her mouth taped. Somehow she manages to get the tape off and get out of the rope. She runs to me and cuts me out of the chair. I speak "tris what's happening." "he's got natalie!" she screams. My eyes go wide. "Who?" "david!" she screams then a gun goes off and she slumps in front of me. I scream and crouch to her and pull her into my arms and shake her. I look up and see David holding natalie. He walks her to the other side of the room and places her on the ground then walks away To the other side pointing a gun and he starts counting. "5-4." I get up and run toward him only I don't get any closer. "3-2" I scream no "1" and he fires the gun natalie slumps to the ground and I scream in agony. He throws the gun toward me and walks out. I take the gun put it to my head an fire.

I sit up and breathe hard and pant. Then I pull my knees to my body and cry. Tris rolls over and sees my crying. She sits up and touches my arm and I pull her into me and cry some more. "Tobias what's wrong sweetheart?" She asks me. "You-dream-David- you and nat- died." I say and cry more. I walk out and pick natalie up and bring her to our room. "Tobias. Tobias. Sweetheart." She says as i cradle natalie in my arms. "Breathe. It's okay. I'm right here. Come on. We can all stay in here tonight okay." And I nod. We all walk to the room and tris holds natalie and I hold her. They fall into a sleep but I don't.

A few hours later I still lay awake.

Then I hear the door open.

I Jump up and I think I see a ghost.
