Twenty Seven

Alex's POV- June 2019

"I'm pretty sure I didn't get a single moment alone with you tonight," I said as I climbed up on the bed.

Sonia glanced away from the notecards and material she was studying and smiled.

"Did you enjoy yourself?" I asked.

She nodded.

"Yeah, your entire family welcomed me with opened arms"

They also hogged her the entire time.

"The food was also really yummy"

I wrapped my arms around her and kissed her temple.

"Do you want to shut off the light?"

"I'm okay with falling asleep with the light on" I answered.

I gave her a final squeeze before lying down. Sleep came quick, and I briefly woke up a bit later when Sonia snuggled against me.

"What time is it?" I mumbled.

"Like 3 AM"

I groaned as she unintentionally kneed me in the stomach.

"You and that leg" I complained as I pulled her leg over my waist to pull her closer.

"Sorry"

"A kiss will make it better" I noted.

"Oh, yeah?"

I hummed as my hand found it's way to her waist. She immediately laughed and proceeded to smack me in the cheek as she tried to grab my face.

"I am so sorry"

I laughed.

"A kiss will make it better," I said.

That kiss led to another thing, and soon we were both undressed. When my alarm rang at 10 AM, Sonia didn't even stir. We did not have BP today, but we did have a team meeting. It probably had something to do with Cody and the revelation that he had conceived a child during his rookie year. 

While I was getting ready, I knocked down Sonia's toiletries bag. The sound was loud enough to wake Sonia up, who knocked on the door a few seconds later.

"Can I pee?"

"Yeah" I answered.

Sonia stepped into the bathroom wearing her robe. As she took a seat on the toilet, she looked up at me.

"How'd you sleep?" I asked.

"Like a baby"

I figured.

"You didn't even move when I got up" I told her.

"Yeah, I didn't feel you get up"

She was sort of a light sleeper.

"Are you sore?" I wondered.

She shook her head.

"No, I feel great actually"

That's good to know.

"I feel icky though, so I'm going to hop into the shower"

"It's a shame I'm dressed" I noted.

She smiled.

"Have fun at your meeting"

I moved aside so she could wash her hands, but once she was done I wrapped my arms around her.

"What's your schedule for today?" I asked.

She sighed.

"I agreed to have brunch with Carol at the Bellinger's house"

I chuckled as she scrunched up her nose.

"Well, have fun with that," I said. 

She pouted.

"This trip was supposed to be fun"

"And it will be because I'm taking you out to dinner tonight," I told her.

After the game, we were going on a date.

"I have to squeeze in some studying"

"You can study in the family room, you're a great multitasker," I said.

She smiled as I gave her a big smooch.

"I have to go, but I'll see you later" I informed her.

"See you"

I gave her one last hug before making my way out of the bathroom. As I sat on the bed to put on my shoes, I heard the shower start running. It took all my strength to not walk back into the bathroom and join her. 

Most of the guys were waiting in the lobby as I exited the elevator. 

"Hey, Kid"

Russel Martin approached me with a grin on his face.

"I was sleeping peacefully until a very steady thump woke me up"

Whoops.

"Let the girl study"

If he knew that it was her who started it.
