Sonia's POV- July 2019

I loved my job, but the only thing I really hated was dealing with the horny workers at construction sites. They dared not catcall me since my boss would have them out of a job, but I could feel their sleazy wandering eyes.

"Sorry about that"

I looked at Emilio, my boss as we exited the area currently under construction.

"About what exactly?" I wondered.

"They practically undressed you with their eyes and I had to repeat your questions because they completely disregarded it"

"I'm used to it" I admitted.

"But you shouldn't be"

I shrugged and removed my safety helmet as we stepped out of the construction area.

"You're going to be here often, and they either treat you with respect or they can easily be replaced"

He unlocked his car and opened the door for me. Once we were inside, he turned to me.

"Did you pack lunch?"

"I did not" I answered.

He smiled.

"Let's get lunch, my treat"

Uhhh.

"The last time we had lunch, you were still an intern"

Oh, I remember that. The only difference was that now it was just me and him.

"All I really know is that you went to the University of Florida, and that you have a twin sister"

"Sure, let's get lunch" I replied.

"Great"

He glanced at me as he pulled out from the site.

"Any diet restrictions?"

"No dairy" I responded.

I dared not mess with dairy while I was at work because then it'd be a mess.

"So you're the other soy milk"

It was my go to drink during company meetings.

"There's this vegan restaurant that my husband told me about"

Wait, husband?

"Are you okay with that?"

"Yeah" I answered.

Once we were in his car, he glanced at me.

"Don't get me wrong, Florida is a nice place but to vacation"

I laughed.

"What led you to leave beautiful California to go to Florida?"

"I got an athletic scholarship" I disclosed.

His brows furrowed.

"What'd you play?"

"Softball" I replied.

"What position?"

"Pitcher" I responded.

He smiled.

"I'll be sure to remember this in April when that softball game comes around"

It was a team bonding event.

"You'll be my secret weapon"

I laughed and shifted as my phone began to loudly vibrate.

"Sorry" I apologized.
