chapter 26 - confessions

-phone convo-

me - "hello? shayla?"

shayla - "lexi..."

me - "umm... i was just wondering why you didn't tell me you were leaving"

shayla - "i'm sorry lexi.. i just didn't want to spend our last time together saying good bye"

me - "you still should've told me shayla! it hurt to hear that you moved to texas from someone else who isn't you! i was you're best friend shayla. keeping something big like this isn't how best friends go"

shayla - "i'm sorry okay?! i just didn't want to sat good bye, because there was going to be so much depression, and tears"

me - "well guess what shayla?! ever since you left me, i've already been through depression and tears"

shayla - "i'm sorry lexi... as i said, i didn't want to say good bye"

me - "well then let me say it. good bye shayla"

shayla - "no, no, please don't do th-"

-end of phone convo-

before she could finish whatshe was saying, i quickly hung up.

call me ober dramatic. i don't care. i just really hate it when people keep things from me. especially about something big.

tears swelled in my eyes, and the slowly made their way out.

i dropped to my knees and began sobbing.

"hey lex. how are you fe-" i heard austin said as he stepped in. but stopped his question once he saw me sobbing

"hey... shh, i'm here. stop crying beautiful" he whispered and wrapped his arms tightly around me to calm me down

i softened but continued to cry.

"come on.. you know i hate seeing you cry" he whispered and began stroking my hair slolwy

i stopped crying and wiped all the tears away.

"i'm fine" i whispered and looked up to meet his eyes

aaron just looked at me with a worried look, but then kissed my lips gently.

he released and sent me a beautiful smile.

"come on. you've been in your room way too long. let's spend time together. i miss my girlfri- i mean friend" he said awkwardly and rubbed the back of his neck

i laughed at his awkward cuteness and kissed his lips.

"does that mean i'm your boyfriend and you're my girlfriend?" he asked and raised a brow

"that means i like you, and yes... i would like to be your girlfriend" i chuckled amd kissed his cheek

"yes!" he screamed and fist bump the air

i laughed at him again.

"thank you for helping me. thank you for being there for me and comforting me" i said and smiled

"no problem. that's what couples are supposed to do. right?" he asked and smirked as he raised a brow

i laughed and nodded my head. "right" i replied before kissing his lips softly
