chapter 3 - day with the best

"sweetie. please tell us what happened at school" my mom pleaded

"it's okay mom. i'm fine. whatever happened, happened. let's just move on and forget about it. okay?" i said

"that's the problem hon. something bad happens, and then you ignore it like nothing even happened. you can't ignore the feeling that you hurt lexi. we're here. we've been through what you've been through so many times lexi. please, talk to us" my father said

"okay.... i was just walking through the hallway, when someone tripped me. and then everything fell, especially my glasses. everybody was calling me names. and that's how it all went down" i said

"i love how you're so strong. but you need to open up to us. you've already cut once. i can't handle you doing it again" my mom said

"i'm sorry mom" i apologized

my parents stood up and took me in for a group hug

"we're going to your school tomorrow, and we're going to talk to your principal about bullying. and the people bullying you. got it?" my dad asked

"dad.. you really don't need to do that" i said and released from the hug

"you've been suffering through bullying for 3 years lexi. i have to do this" he said

i sighed. "okay" i replied to him

"who was the one who bullied you today?" my mom asked

"it was britney. she was the one who trippe me" i replied and they both nodded

"we're going to go to the eye doctor tomorrow after after school, and we're going to buy you a new pair of glasses" my dad told me

"okay" i replied and smiled up to them before they went up the stairs

"are you okay? i heard what happene to you today at school this morning. i'm so sorry i wasn't there for you" my best friend shayla said and then gave me a bear hug as she walked into my room

"it's okay shay" i said as we released and sat down on my bed

"no it's not lexi. i wasn't there for you" she said

"but you're here now. just leave it shay, my parents are going to handle it tomorrow. okay?"

"okay. but then again. i am sorry" she said one more time and then hugged

"what do you wanna do today?" shayla asked as she started playing with the teddy bear my grandfather gave me for my 8th birthday before he passed away

"i don't know. we should go swimming" i said and sat next to her

"great idea. where at?" she asked

"shay, you came to my house yesterday. i can't believe you forgot that i have a pool in my backyard, and a hot tub" i said and raised a brow

"ohh right" she said and laughed

we got into our swimming clothes and jumped into the pool together

"do we have any homework for 3rd period?" i asked shayla

"don't worry about school for once lexi" shayla said and then patted my shoulder

"not my fault i don't want a failing grade!" i said and began splashing her with water

"you bitch!" she screamed and laughed as she began splashing me too

-after swimming-

"again. i'm sorry i wasn't there for you lexi" shayla said as she made her way to the front door

"hey. it's okay. i'll see you at school tomorrow" i said and hugged her

"bye shayla" i said and waved

"bye lexi!" she yelled back and waved before going inside her car
