chapter 38 - something bad must've really happened

after shaking his hand, i looked up at him and smiled.

damn. i know this is wrong to say. but my cousin is hot. if wasn't related to him, i'd soo tap that.

i snapped out of my thoughts when i heard jeric singing my name and waving his hand around my face

"oh.. uh.. what's happenig?" i asked and widened my eyes when i realized that i just embaressed myself

"nothing. you can take a seat. you're order will be comming up in a few minutes and i'll bring it over to you
when it's ready" he said and pointed to a table that is next to the window

i smiled at him and and got out of line.

i took a seat at the table and took some time to adore the beauty of this state. (idk where she was aupposed to go)

i noticed a cute family walking around laughing, smiling, and having a good time. there was the mom, dad, older sister, and younger sister.

that used to be my family. we used to be happy, and complete. but now that my father is gone, everything came crashing down.

just the thought of my father gone, brang tears to my eyes.

i looked back at the family and see them smiling while looking at eachother.

why can't that be my family?

i asked myself.

this time, the tears in my eyes came pouring out.

i placed my hands in my face and sobbed.

why couldn't it have been me?

why my father?

why does the bad always happen to
the innocent ones?

why?!

i asked myself all these questions

"hey lexi. i got your or-" jeric stopped what he was about to say when he saw me sobbing

"hey... what happened?" he asked as he quickly sat down and started rubbing my back lightly

"m-m-my-" i stuttered in between sobs

"shh... it's okay. we'll talk about it when we get home, alright? i don't know what happened, but i know you will get through this. you'll fight through it. stay strong cousin" he said and patted my back lightly

i wiped my tears away and smiled at him.

"you stay here. and i'll go get your family to come over. i'm going to be the kne to drop you guys at the house. so stay here and sit tight. i'll be back" he said and hugged me lightly

i smiled at him and he smiled back.
-jeric's p.o.v-

as i reached the airport. i spotted lexi's mom and a younger daughter sleeping on her mom's lap.

i walked closer, and as i got closer, aunt layla (lexi's mom) her head shot up and met my gaze.

i've noticed that her eyes are bloodshot red, and her nose is just as red as a cherry.

something really bad must've happened back home. and i'm going to find out so i could help them fight through the pain.

how'd you guys enjoy this chapter? i made chapter 38 on my laptop, but it didn't save onto my phone. so i had to restart..
