i got up and threw my food away.
i walked out the cafeteria doors crying.
"lexi! wait up!" i heard leigh yell
i began to slow down and stopped to wait for leigh.
"come... let's take you to my house" she said and i nodded
we began walking and i kept crying.
"he's an ass. you deserve much better than him" she said and rubbed my back
'you deserve much better than him'
why did i even trust him in the first place? i already knew he was going to break my heart in the beginning. but stupid heart, having a crush on the bad boy and shit.
"thanks leigh" i mumbled and gave her a small smile
"no problem. and we're here" leigh said as we took a step on her front porch
"come in. we can talk about it if you want through ice cream" she said and smiled
i laughed a little and followed her inside
i began wiping my tears away with some paper towel i put in my pocket
"hey mom. this is lexi" leigh greeted
"hi honey.. what are you doing here? aren't you supposed to be in school?" she asked and placed the cookies she was baking into the oven
"we were. but there were some problems" leigh said
"ahh. alright. well hi lexi, i don't know what happened. but you're always welcomed. feel better" her mom said and smiled
i looked at her and smiled as well.
i recognized that she didn't look like leigh. she had blue eyes, blonde hair, and tall.
"thank you" i said and smiled at her again.
"there's ice cream in the fridge" her mom said
leigh nodded and made her way to the fridge.
she took out two boxes of ice cream. one was strawberry, and the other was green tea.
"come on. let's go to my room" she said and i nodded as i followed behind her
we reached her room amd she closed her door shut as we stepped into the room.
"what would you like?" she asked and held the ice cream boxes on both of her hands
"green tea" i said and took it
"how come you don't look like your mom?" i asked as i took a seat on her bed and began eating the ice cream
"i'm adopted. my birth parents gave me up for adoption because they couldn't afford to take care of me. they said 'you deserve a better family', but it sucks cause i heard they already have a family" she said and began eating her ice cream
"i'm sorry to hear about that" i apologized and rubbed her back
"it's alright. i heard they have two girls, i think i'm a few months older than the oldest one" she said and shrugged
"are you feeling alright?" she asked me
i sighed before replying. "honestly.. i don't know. i feel like this is all my fault" i said
"why do you think that?" she questions
"because i trusted him. i trusted my own bully" i said and let the tears roll down my cheeks
"hey... it's okay. it'll get better" she said as she hugged me. though she's saying that eerything will be okay. it won't be okay. nothing is ever okay.
i just met leigh today, but she's already helped me so much in less that 24 hours. who knew a stranger would have such a big heart?
