JUGHEAD POV

"Thanks for driving me." I said to Sweetpea. He drove me to school that morning because my mom was working. I should be sleep in because it's a Sunday morning. This sucks on so many levels.

"I can't wait to see you on that stage in makeup and memorizing your lines." Sweetpea smirked. I rolled my eyes.

"Be here in an hour, ok? Don't forget!" I shouted.

"Maybe you'll get some big boobed and big butt girl and you'll be able to bang her in the play."

"Yeah, I'm not doing this. See you in an hour!" I said and walked away from the car. I walked into the school and down the hallways. I opened the theater doors and I saw the drama teacher and students sitting in a circle. Guess who was there?...Betty Cooper.

"Mr. Jones? You're late." Ms. Grundy crossed her arms.

"Morning traffic. You know how it goes." I shrugged and sat down in the chair next to Betty.

"Well, better late then never. This years play is about a man named Donny Wikks. Donny used to be a gangster and sent to prison. He's released and decided to open up a nightclub. He falls for a beautiful woman named Penelope. But he also catches feelings for the club singer, Sandra. Now, the roles. Cheryl Blossom will be playing at Penelope. Betty Cooper will be Sandra. Last but not least, Jughead Jones will be Donny Wikks."

"No! I wasn't planning on acting." I yelled. Everyone looked at me. Grundy rolled her eyes and handed me a script book. Everyone got one and we started reading the play. It's the moment you know that this is probably the worst play a person has ever written. I mean, Kevin Keller is a good person, don't get me wrong. But he's a hopeless romantic and really sensitive. It makes him vulnerable. It's like the horse girl being in a school of werewolf lovers.

"How do you know, Donny?" Cheryl said enthusiastically. I rolled my eyes and looked at my script.

"What do you mean, Penelope?"

"How do you know that we're in love?"

"Ugh...Baby, you don't wanna be with me. I could be dangerous. I'm sorry, this so stupid!" I laughed. Kevin rolled his eyes and Ms. Grundy sighed.

"Mr. Jones, are you trying to be bad at this?"

"Nope, it comes naturally." I smirked. Some people gave a light chuckle and I looked over at Betty who only had a weak smile. We continued our lines for the rest of the time. When it was over, I stood outside the school waiting for Sweetpea to come get me. However, he was 20-minutes late. I knew he was gonna flake. I should've just called Toni...scratch that.

"Jughead?" Someone said tapping my shoulder. I looked over and saw Betty standing next to me. "Would it kill you to try?" She asked.

"Yep and I'm too young to die."

"You don't care about grades or academics, but you like school because you're popular and you'll never get that chance again?"

"That's so predictable." I nodded. Betty shook her head and sighed.

"You're, 'I'm a jerk and I don't care about anything' act works on everyone else. But you don't have me fooled. I think you care a lot about school." Betty said and walked away. I looked around and saw no sign of Sweetpea. He definitely wasn't coming. I can't walk home because it's so far. I looked over and saw Betty pulling out of her parking space. I ran over to her car and knocked on the window. She rolled the window down and I lightly smiled.

"Feeling Christian?"
