BETTY POV

I woke up and saw Dad just weakly crying next to my bed. Jughead must have left this morning. I hated seeing my father in pain. I haven't seen him this sad since Mom died.

"Daddy, why so serious?" I asked. He looked up at me and wiped his tears with his sleeves. He took my hand and he weakly smiled.

"Jughead went home to get some sleep. He hasn't slept a wink in the past couple days. It's just me."

"I'm happy that it's you." I said. There was a moment of silence and Dad sighed.

"Betty, do you remember when you were about six? You said that you hated gravity and you wanted to jump off the roof and fly like a bird?" Dad asked. I giggled and nodded.

"I was so mad at you for making me come down."

"I thought that if I kept you safer...that meant I would be able to keep you longer. When your mother died...I thought that I would never be happy again. You look just like her and I couldn't look at you for so many days." Dad said beginning to cry again. I took my other hand and put on top of our hands.

"I love you so much." I said.

"I love you too, honey." Dad weakly smiled and hugged my arm. I have all the things I need. My father, my boyfriend, a place to sleep, and God.
