JUGHEAD POV

I stood by the lockers with my friends at school. They were all cracking dirty jokes and being perverted. Since it was April, girls were wearing short skirts. Sweetpea was getting a kick out of it.

"This is what I love about spring! Girls who wear short skirts and they're basically asking for it!" Sweetpea moaned. We all gave a laugh and then the worst happened...Betty walked up to us.

"Hey, Jughead! So I'll see you after school?" Betty asked. I looked at all my friends who were giving me looks that were shocked and getting ready to make fun of me. I looked back at Betty and shrugged.

"In your dreams." I sassed. My friends started laughing and Betty's face turned red. She nodded and then walked away.

"Nice sweater!" Archie shouted. We all laughed and the guilt kicked in. I felt like such a douchebag. It was ok because I was going to fix it later when I go to Betty's house to practice lines. When school was over, I walked all the way to Betty's house. I knocked on the door and she opened it. She closed it in my face and I groaned. I messed up.

"Betty, come on! Open the door!" I yelled. She opened the door and came outside. She slammed the door behind her and crossed her arms. "You're not in a good mood."

"No dip."

"Look Betty, I was hoping we could run lines together." I weakly smiled. Betty smiled and nodded.

"Ok! But just so nobody knows."

"I thought we could surprise everyone with how good I get."

"Like we could be secret friends!" Betty exclaimed.

"Exactly! It's like you're reading my mind!"

"Ok, great. Maybe you can read mine." Betty said. Her smile faded into an angry face and she went back inside her house. I stopped her from closing the door in my face by holding it open.

"Betty, I can't just be your friend."

"I thought you were a good person for a brief second...but I was very, very, very wrong." Betty sighed and shut the door. I groaned and walked off the porch. I hated what I did earlier it was very wrong of me.

"Jesus Chri-" I yelled. Pastor Cooper walked outside with angry look on his face and his hands on his hips.

"Sorry." I sassed to him. I walked away from the house and it took forever to get all the way back to mine. I guess I was gonna have to learn lines all by myself now.
