BETTY POV
It was around 7:20PM and I was sitting outside on the swing on my porch. I was reading a book and my father was inside preparing dinner. I loved the outdoors and reading. But I wasn't ready for a visitor.
"Betty?" I heard a voice say. I looked up and saw Jughead standing in front of me holding a bag.
"You."
"Me. I bought something for you." Jughead weakly smiled and handed the bag to me. I smiled to myself and looked up at him.
"Thank you."
"You're welcome. I'll see you at school." Jughead nodded and walked off the porch. My dad walked outside and sat next to me on the porch. I opened my bag and pulled out a yellow sweater. I smiled and put it back in the bag.
"Betty, boys like him...they have expectations. The rules around here aren't going to change!" Dad shouted.
"I know." I nodded.
"I know that you don't care about my opinion. But you should care about God's opinion."
"I believe he just wants me to be happy. You can relax, it's just a sweater. I'm gonna go check on the soup." I said. I kissed his cheek and went inside the house with my bag. Dad is never going to let me date in my lifetime.
