JUGHEAD POV
I care to hospital the next day. It was a Tuesday afternoon and I decided to skip school again to be with her. She was still very pale but she was breathing on her own now. I was just sitting at the desk reading a book and I looked over at Betty. She was just smiling and watching me read.
"Hey, Betts." I smiled and closed the book. I got up and moved to the bed. I kissed her and then sat next to her. "How are you?"
"I'm really good. How are you?"
"I'm fine." I smiled. Betty turned to her nightstand and handed me a book.
"Don't worry, it's not a Bible. It's a book of poems and quotes my mother and I like. Will you read it to me?" Betty asked. I nodded and opened the book.
"Be less curious about people and more curious about ideas."-Marie Curie." I quoted. Betty pointed at the next one and I read it.
"I don't think of all the misery, but of the beauty that still remains."-Anne Frank." I said. "That's Anne Frank."
"I always thought she was so smart." Betty laughed. I looked at the next one which was a Bible verse. But I don't mind too much. Betty loves it.
"Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It is not rude, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs."-Corinthians 13:4." I nodded. I looked up at Betty and closed the book. She was so pretty.
"You know what I learned today?" Betty asked.
"What?"
"God has a bigger plan for me than I do for myself. Like you were apart of his plan. You were sent to me because I'm sick...you're my angel." Betty smiled. I kissed her and then hugged her. As her angel, I need to keep her safe.
