Aditya stood by the side of the highway, leaning along his bike, while Arjun stood there with a devastated look.
"It's all my fault, Bhai..." Arjun said in tears, "I should have taken Zoya too along with Pooja, even though she insisted that she will wait there till we come. It was all my fault."
Arjun looked at Aditya, who was just staring at the opposite side of the highway, from where Zoya was supposed to have been abducted.
"Bhai..." Arjun walked towards Aditya, in tears, and looked at his wounded palm. He took Aditya's hand in his hand and said, "I am sorry Bhai. Instead of finding ways to get you and Zoya closer...I myself became a reason...for her to be away from you today...I am so sorry Bhai."
Aditya gulped down his emotions, and looked at Arjun with a strong face, "This isn't the time to get emotional, Arjun...nor to find out who is responsible for whatever that happened. Now all that should matter is...finding Zoya. Emotions can wait...but Zoya can't."
Aditya stood upright took a deep breath, as he wiped his face venting out his bustling pressure. He then opened his eyes and then scanned the entire highway. He turned back and saw a dhaba.
"You and Pooja came here only right?" Aditya asked pointing at the dhaba, while Arjun nodded.
Aditya walked to the dhaba and saw a middle-aged man arranging the food items in the rack.
"Bhaiyya..." Aditya called out to him, while the man looked at him. Aditya asked, "Today around 11-12...were you here?"
"Yeah...here only..." The man answered, and continued his work, while Arjun said, "Bhai, I enquired to him. He said he had no idea, and he didn't see anything."
Aditya listened on, while he took a glance at the man, and he noticed him eyeing Aditya and Arjun till that moment, and then quickly turning his glance away as Aditya looked at him.
Aditya leaned over the counter and said in a calm tone, "Look here Bhaiyya, I understand people usually hesitate to involve in such cases, fearing police investigation and such."
The man looked on, while Aditya said, "I can see that you know something...I can assure you that your name won't be dragged anywhere. But just a small clue from you too, can save one innocent girl's life..." Aditya's facial muscles clenched as he said, "We don't even know in what state she is in...if you know something, please tell us...please!"
The man looked down and then saw Aditya, "I didn't see anything specifically...but one white mini-van stopped there for a while...while this boy and another girl were having tea here..." The man said, pointing at Arjun, while Aditya listened to it keenly.
"I didn't give much heed to that van when it was here. Later when I got to know that the girl who was standing there went missing, I related to both the incidents. I know this much only..."
"Bhai!" Arjun said in a panicked tone, "I am sure they only would have abducted Zoya...I am sure Bhai!"
Aditya looked at the man, "Okay...any specific details you noticed about that van? Any name...pictures...logo...anything odd?"
"No...I didn't look that deeply too..." The man said, while he added, "Please don't mention about me in police case or such...I have a family...I don't want to get involved in all this..."
