Chapter 43: Drenched in Love

It was night, and Aditya, Arjun and Mahi got down from the taxi, nearby a roadside dhaba. Aditya paid the driver, while he asked Arjun, "Can't you wait till we go home, Arjun? Are you a five-month old baby that you can't control your hunger for another 20 minutes?"

"Bhai! Hunger, anger, jealousy, sleep...these things can't be controlled. It just comes you know?" Arjun asked, while Mahi responded with a smile, "Wow! What a dialogue!"

Aditya picked the bags in his hand, as he said, "Definitely from one of his TV show, I am sure!"

She laughed hearing it, while Arjun rushed to the dhaba, and placed an order for paani puri for the three of them.

They waited for the order, while Arjun asked Aditya, "So, now all we are left to do is book a car for our trip. When are you doing it, Bhai?"

"I have already informed my colleague. He said he will arrange one by tomorrow." Aditya added, "Now the rest of the work is Pooja's. She said she will talk about the leave for her and Zoya to her manager tomorrow."

"But I still don't know how is Pooja going to convince Zoya for this trip." Mahi said with a thoughtful face, "I mean, why will Zoya come for an engagement party of Pooja's friend? At least, you both can say that you were Pooja's neighbors in Delhi and thus you know her friend. But why will Zoya come? She is a bit socially awkward to attend such parties of people, whom she isn't that familiar of. And even if you say I am also coming for Zoya, it's still going to look super weird, right? Why will I come to Pooja's friend's party?"

"Mahi, if you start thinking about weirdness, then you are not even supposed to spend time with us. We all are epitomes of weirdness. If you start looking for sense and logic, then you are sitting with the wrong people." Arjun said with a proud smile, while Aditya, who was looking into his mobile, modified Arjun's statement, "Not we. He alone. He is giving a description about himself."

Arjun stared at Aditya, while Mahi laughed hearing it, and asked, "Whatever guys, I just hope Pooja or anyone of you, someone manages to bring Zoya to this trip."

"Mahi, it's Pooja you are talking about." Aditya said with a smile, "If Pooja wishes, not just Lonavala, she can even take Zoya to London, along with her. Don't underestimate her capabilities. She is smart!"

"No way! I am not coming!"

Zoya argued, as she walked by the footpath, along with Pooja. Pooja walked ahead and stood in front of her and asked, "But why? Haan? Are you a school kid, that you have some homework or revision to do? What are you going to do at home all alone?"

"I don't mind staying at home all alone, but I am not going to come and attend someone's engagement, whom I don't even know. You go, I am not coming."

Pooja's eyes were fixed on Zoya, while her brain weaved ideas. She then said, "Fine then! We all will go. You stay at home and sleep for the entire 2 days."

Pooja walked forward, while Zoya noted the word we. She raced ahead, and asked Pooja, "We? Who else?"

"Me, Arjun and Aditya." Pooja said, while she added after a few seconds, "Oh wait...Mahi too!"

"Mahi???" Zoya exclaimed in a louder tone, "Why...why Mahi? Why are you taking her when Aditya...and Arjun are already there?"

Pooja noticed Zoya's sudden change of expressions, and the way she was calm, till the moment she mentioned Mahi's name. She also didn't fail to notice Zoya's concern about Mahi coming with them when Aditya was there, and the way she added Arjun's name just as a cover up. With some doubts arising in her mind, she decided to use that card.
